Bought adapter here to install this thermal old style fan clutch on a 2006 6.0 F350. Install a Mishamoto low temp thermostat ordered here and my truck runs 180-184 degrees ECT instead of 205 in hot Texas summers. Best money you’ll ever spend to extend the life of your truck. Installed both before a 2,900 mile round trip to get a 15,000 lb Deuce Army truck on a 32ft gooseneck trailer. Ran perfect never got over 184 degrees.

Installed in early Aug23 Was working real nice...I noticed about March of 2024 the engine temp was running higher than normal, however i live in North Pa i actually had to add a restriction to the front of the radiator to allow to heat up properly during the winter months...Then in the beginning of April 24 i turned on the AC and the AC pump would Growl off and on, So i checked the AC pressure only to find the Head pressure was well over 375psi, should not be over 270...The system was running HOT...So i reached in and could stop the FAN blades..the Hayden fan Clutch was not engaging...So i am seeking help from the suppler...Stay tuned..

Ok so first off I used this for a 6.0 powerstroke so you will need an adapter for this to work. Now to the actual review. This works amazing it is a bit noisier than stock however if you have any other mods you won’t notice it at all. This has helped keep my truck cooler than anticipated and the trade off worth it. If you are having issues with your cooling on your 6.0 powerstroke I highly recommend this (keep in mind you need an adapter) it is well worth the money and we’ll worth the peace of mind not having your truck cut off randomly when your stock fan is shorting out.

My factory ECM controlled fan hub failed and since it only logs a soft code no check engine light, I was pulling a grade with a camper on and pulling a trailer fan didnt come on like it should engine high coolant light came on, no where to pull over. It was hot for about 10 seconds until I topped the pass a rolled down the other side, we'll that was enough to warp the heads and blow the head gaskets on a studded bullet proofed 6.0l powerstroke. $10,000 later I am back on the road with the 7.3 powerstroke fan clutch and my engine coolant and oil temps are way more stable, I very rarely get over 200 degrees on coolant temp and my Delta with the oil temp never gets more than 10 degrees. Yes it runs more so there is some more noise but you only really can tell on a long grade, cruising down the highway loaded you can't hear it. If it effects fuel milage it is minimal. I would highly recommend all 6.0l powerstroke owners to do this conversion it will save you a ton of money in the long run.

We did the 7.3 fan clutch mod on our 04 6.0 Powerstroke using this unit. I can’t believe how much better this fan clutch works than the visctronic clutch that comes from the factory. We’re in FL and tow 12k pounds in 95 degree heat with very high humidity. This fan clutch lowered both ECT and EOT more than 10 degrees. It also helps the AC perform a bit better because more air is passing through the condenser when this things spools up. I don’t notice more noise from the fan nor any loss of fuel mileage. I do notice it kicks in more often than the visctronic fan clutch but in doing so, it keeps the temps down more consistently rather than ECT/EOT rising and falling like before. To be honest, we did upgrade to a Dieselsite water pump at the same time. It is also remarkably more efficient and probably contributes to the lower temps too. Whether you’re upgrading your water pump or not, I would recommend this fan clutch on a 6.0 Powerstroke.

I used this in my 2005 F250 with 6.0 Powerstroke. The 6.0 originally came with a electronically controlled fan. This one is mechanical so less failure. My electronic one failed and caused my engine to overheat while pulling my camper which resulted in a cracked head. Do yourself a favor and buy this now if you think your clutch fan is failing. You will also need the adapter from Bullet Proof Diesel, part number 6502213.This is the same clutch Bullet Proof sales but at a huge savings over them, thanks Amazon!Going this route will cost about the same as going to original electronic controlled, the fan is more aggressive and you will hear it more. That doesn't bother me, let's me know it's working. But might be too loud for the yuppies.
