Been hunting for probably 5-6 years now wasn’t the call I learned on but would be good for beginners. Feed call is easier to perform on this call while it doesn’t sound as good as other is effective and will get ducks circling.

This was my first duck call when I started duck hunting 40 years ago and it is still my favorite go to call. Purchased it for my grandson. Easy to learn and use, and he "bagged" his first duck on the first day of use. Recommended.

This has a nice solid quack and an affordable price. The sticker on the barrel is starting to fall off already though.

I have used Haydel for many years. Love this call light and cheap! Best call on the market for the money!

After reading about the best duck calls for beginners this one and the Primos Original Wench were both highly recommended. I purchased the Wench first. I really wasn't a big fan of it but didn't know if it was me or the call. So I purchased this one and it is way easier to manipulate.

I took it out the box, gave it a few quacks and liked it instantly. But I set it on my counter and proceeded to knock it off. It split the plastic falling on vinyl (pretty soft) floor from about 2.5 ft. This wasn't built to take a beating. But, it still quacks hard and I've called in several ducks with it so far so I guess it was well worth $21.

One of the best sounding mallard calls on the market, been my go to every spring and fall when the winds are high it will reach out and grab them.

The item was purchased and received prior to estimated receive date. Still learning so can't really give feedback on how the call works.

I am not a hunter so I can't speak to this mallard call's ability to attract mallards. I am an animal photographer and use this to get those adorable little head tilts you see in photos of dogs and cats. You get your camera focused on your pup, you blow into this thing and the split second when then tilt their head to see what that interesting sound is, you snap their picture. Voila! Okay to that's your pet photography lesson for the day.Now about this call.... the cardboard info that accompanies this call states that it has been fully tested before it is shipped out. I have no reason to think they aren't telling the truth. It works great. I followed the instructions on the cardboard to try different sounds and that also worked great. It appears to be quite well constructed, and it is visually pleasing (though I am sure that doesn't matter to the average mallard hunter but I just like things that perform well AND look nice).Next spring when the Mallards return to nest in the vernal pond behind my backyard, I will blow this thing and see if they show any interest. If I have anything new to report I will update this review.BOTTOM LINE: Can't speak to its use as a Mallard call though I suspect it is quite good. But as an attention getting in animal photography it is outstanding.
