Nice moisture meter, and amazing value for the price. Overall it is exactly as described, and performs as expected.

This hay moisture tester is simple to use and provides accurate readings for moisture and temperature. The LED warning feature is helpful, and the automatic temperature compensation ensures consistent results. It’s portable and great for forage and alfalfa, though the probe feels a bit delicate. Overall, a solid tool for hay quality management!

I have a fear of our hay combusting and burning down our barns. This tool gave me peace of mind and increased my confidence of knowing when it was time to bale and if i had hot spots in the hay. Its easy to use, gives accurate measurements quickly and sure lets me sleep better at night. Worth every penny!

So far have been loving this probe. It reads a live reading while probing. Also love that the price is right. If you don’t have want to spend the money on a delmhorst moisture reader I would highly recommend.

I cut my own hay for my horses and this moisture meter is great to monitor the cure on the hay. It works on different hay types as well: grass hay (drier) vs alfalfa (moist). It is easy to use just by sticking the prongs into a bale. It has a rare function for humid weather as well.

Portable Hay Moisture Meter Tester with Long Probe – Accurate Moisture & Temperature DetectionGood meter, showed my hay was between 6-8.5% moisture content. The description says "temperature detection" but the unit does not display the temperature. It's possible that it detects temperature and uses that information somehow. It's also possible it doesn't detect it at all.Be sure and remove the white rubber protectors over the tips before you insert the meter into the hay bale.

I'm an amateur mycologist and I bought this to test the moisture levels of my substrate mixes. It's super easy to use and gives me quick readings. I love that it has a long probe so I can get deep into my bags and jars. The display is easy to read and the auto-off feature is great for saving battery life. It seems pretty accurate, although I haven't tested it against a lab-grade meter. The carrying case is a nice touch too. Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase!

I have 2 horses and 3 donkeys that I buy and store round bales of hay for to eat during the winter here in North Georgia, USA. I was curious to find out the moisture content of the hay I have stored. Winter before last I had moist hay heat up my barn so much I had to pull it out - it was ruined due to too much moisture.I took this new moisture meter to my hay shed where I have about 35 800lb round bales stored to see what it would read. The meter was easy to push into the hay and easy to operate - just turn on, push into the hay and read. It was already at zero when I turned it on. It quickly settled on a moisture reading that was easy to see and read.I can't say how accurate it is - I have no other reading to gauge it against. It did give various readings for different sections of the bale, which is to be expected. It seems a bit light-weight, but again - I have nothing to compare it with so maybe it doesn't need to be any heavier and will be durable enough to last years. Time will tell, but for now it works great and I'm happy with it.
