Purchased this for $45 with the expectation of needing to modify the stand off bracket. The original stand-off bracket at the top of the post curves outward away from the tree, so only two teeth bite into a tree. Not sure why they designed it this way. It would set solid unless you put side pressure on the stand, but also wasn’t confident in it. I purchased a new bracket from eastern woods outdoors for $19 and installed. The new bracket curves with the tree now and bites really good with multiple teeth and doesn’t kick out with side pressure. The original strap is fine but I replaced it with one of my extra Xop straps that are wider. This platform is SOLID now. Overall a good purchase for $65 after upgrades. Small profile for attaching to my pack and then my saddle while climbing, and very lightweight.

I picked up this platform around the middle of 2024 to use with my saddle setup. Ended up replacing the strap with a Tetherd strap, and changing out the tree teeth bracket with a Tetherd Predator bracket (This bracket had a lot of side to side play in it when I initially put it on the platform. I simply used a small allen wrench to wedge down inbetween the bracket beam and the predator bracket. This reduced the side to side play a ton). I also added grip tape along the top of the platform for slip resistance. My experience has been pretty solid so far. I think some of the reviews are simply misjudged based on user error. Some talk about how it doesn't cinch down to the tree. The mistake is not setting the platform correctly. When you get the platform initially on the tree, you should then stand up on the top with one foot while wrapping your arms around the tree, lift the platform upward towards you with your other foot, then push the platform back down. This helps to really cinch the platform up against the tree. I was able to get it locked very firmly even before changing out the bracket and strap. All in all, not a bad deal. With a few modifications and trial/error... I think it has it's place in consideration if you are getting into saddle hunting or simply want a less expensive alternative.

Works fantastic! Don't mind the top cleat curved from the tree, just know how to set it up correctly and it doesn't move. Do yourself a favor and add some grip tape to it for those dewy mornings. Welds are ugly but doesn't effect performance at all. Love mine.

This platform has a horrible design flaw that allows the platform to kick out when side loaded. The teeth don't bite into the tree well, and the second you apply pressure to the side the whole platform kicks out. Alot of people modify this platform by replacing the upper standoff with a tethrd one or similar brand. For me I will be returning it and buying a product that I can trust. Having the platform shift on you is very unsettling 20 feet up in the air. Not to mention the noise would spook any deer you were trying to maneuver into a shot on. This could be a great budget platform but the obvious design flaws creating safety issues is a hard pass for me.

Poor craftsmanship. Had to order three to finally get one that would work and that could be assembled. The first one received could not adjust angle of platform. The angle/leveling bolt grommet would spin with bolt when trying to adjust. Second one received the vertical post tabs were not welded on vertical (at a bad angle) and were too close to fit post between. 3rd one received finally worked and was able to assemble and adjust angle of platform correctly. Price and weight are the best things about this platform.

I bought an expensive platform and this one so I could saddle hunt with my kids. After using it for two weeks, I returned the expensive one and bought another hawk.Everything about this platform is great. Anyone who says it doesn't hug the tree, isn't locking it in properly. Once it is hand tightened, climb on to it. Stand with one for on the top vertical bar, lift the platform with the other foot and push down on the vertical bar. Lower the platform and its fastened to the tree and won't budge.I'm not a fan of the other hawk products but the platform is awesome. If you do want to replace the straps, look up XOP straps. They are better but there is no need to replace these if used properly.Add grip tape to the stand, it makes it even better.
