I love it! Exactly what I was looking for. It fits Ozark Trail 1.25lbs Wooden Handle Hatchet, Axe, Model 5039 perfectly! Gives the protection that my budget hatchet from Walmart was lacking. Ozark trail only lncluded a plastic guard that was only for packaging I'm assuming. This sheath was much needed, and it has a belt loop as well, which is a plus!

I was concerned about how the Gerber 3.5" pack hatchet would sit in this because it has a slightly different head angle than many hatchets. I'm pleased to say it fits flawlessly and completely solves the one thing that makes that hatchet suck (you have to draw the handle completely through the stock sheath, it's a very poor design). It sits on the belt loop nicely and feels well balanced so that you hardly notice it.My only critique is I wish it were mirror image. As is, this really only makes sense when on your left hip, but most people are right hand dominant.As with any sheath, be extra careful when putting back in. Easy to accidentally slice something on the way in. Still possible but much less likely on the way out.I guess I'll end with noting that the quality and design seems to be up to the task, but it's new so I'll edit this if I have any problems there. Although I have a couple of nitpicks they are very minor and don't hesitate to recommend particularly for the price point.
