I ordered these mainly to use in luggage so my boyfriend could take several hats on vacation with the hopes they would retain their shape and avoid being smashed. He's very particular about his hats! These hat cages did their job. We used two of them on a week trip and other than having to re-bend the bill a little, they were sturdy and worked well.We have not used them to wash any hats, only for traveling at this point.

The hat washer is a useful tool for keeping hats in shape during cleaning or travel. It works best in the dishwasher, but I found it tricky to use with my front-loading washing machine. The plastic is durable, but it feels a little flimsy when snapping it closed. It’s good for light use, but I’d prefer a more robust design for frequent washing.

We have so many beloved baseball caps at home and frankly, they show all their frequent wearing through the sweat, grime and spills they have received. And did I mention their special odor? And no one ever wants to get rid of these beloved yet grimy caps, no matter that they are not desirable to wear. This ‘washer cage’ is an amazing solution. Because although everyone says you can toss these caps in the dishwasher, the result is a cap that never fits well again. This hat cage solves that problem. It snaps shut around the dirty cap, you place the cap on the top shelf of the dishwasher and run the cycle. Then allow it to air dry. The result is a cap that looks brand new. Nothing can stop us now. This is a great product.

This did well to wash my favorite hat and allowing it to retain its shape. I have one of those washing machines with the low-profile agitator. I previously had an older style washing machine and I think the washing came out better in the old washer. Probably because of more water being in the machine. I did pre-treat my hat and it did come out clean but when I washed it a second time, it was even cleaner. I’m guessing the machine, and not the hat cleaning cage, was the reason the 2nd wash came out cleaner. I’m glad to have one of these again to help keep my hats clean. There were 4 in the pack but I would suggest only washing one hat at a time unless you have a super large washing machine.

The product was pictured just like it came and they held up during the wash cycle of the dishwasher. I'm not really sure how much cleaner the hats actually are but it's better than nothing and that has nothing to do with whether or not the product works so I'm not going to fault the product for that. As a note, some hats do not hold up well during the heating cycle. For instance, I have a had with a cork inlay image, it looks worse for wear after the wash cycle.

My son has to wear a cap at work and it's gets pretty sweaty..... So I got this so we could wash it and keep the shape.It works pretty well.... other than a bit of staining from the dishwasher...I honestly didn't need a 4 pack but that's the way it came... no big deal.Recommended

Easy to use. I have a top load washing machine with an agitator and it fits just fine in it. Then I just let hats sit out to dry in the holders. Works great!!

these are great option for washing hats that keep them in place as to not ruin their mold. i will say, it kind of flattens the bill a little bit if you prefer a more coiled/curved bill, you will just need to reshape it a bit after it comes out, but that's super easy to do. we used it in our washing machine and it got really clean and stayed in the cage the whole time. I like that its a set so you can wash multiple hats at once.
