This collar kills and repels both fleas and ticks for 7 months and also prevents flea eggs from hatching for over half the year - stopping the flea life cycle and inhibiting reinfestation. The water resistant design remains effective even after getting caught in the rain. Also features a breakaway safety release. For continuous flea and tick protection from head to tail, replace the collar every 7 months. For use on kittens 12 weeks of age and older. Directions: Remove collar from package, unroll and stretch to activate insecticide generator. Do not use on kittens under 12 weeks of age. Do not unroll collar until ready to use. Place the collar around the cat’s neck, adjust for proper fit and buckle in place. The collar must be worn loosely to allow for growth of the cat and to permit the collar to move about the neck. Generally, a properly fitted collar is one that, when fastened, will snugly slide over the cat’s head. Leave 2 or 3 inches on the collar for extra adjustment and cut off and dispose of the extra length. Consult a veterinarian before using this product on debilitated, aged or medicated pets. Sensitivity may occur after using any pesticide product for pets. Some animals may become irritated by the collar if it is applied too tightly. If this occurs, loosen the collar. If irritation continues, remove the collar and bathe your cat with mild soap and rinse with large amount of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately. Do not use this product on cats simultaneously or within 30 days before or after treatment of other flea and tick products. However, flea and tick collars may be replaced immediately.

I just bought these about 2 1/2 months ago and my fur babies have fleas. These are more expensive than what I'm used to buying. Totally defeated the purpose! I want a refund! I've had to give my cats Flea baths, treatment (which didn't seem to work either) and it turns out my best investment was a $4 flea comb!

Despite some of the unflattering comments I've read I ordered these for both of my cats. A young calico and a 13 yr old tabby. Within a week both of them were mostly rid of fleas and after another week, there were none. I didn't find the colors to be dangerous or cause any problems with skin they just did what was expected. Maybe some of the people who left unfavorable comments meant the fleas were the ones who had a bad ending. They packaging says good for 7 month but I have chosen the put new collars on every 3-4 month as my cats are out in the fenced in back yard flower garden with me of course. But they have not shown any problems with fleas or any other pests.

Works exactly as promised so far, i have had my pet in it for a week and a half and she has cut back on her scratching 95 percent, even though our carpet is still pretty infested! I am impressed! 5 dollars for so much relief for my fur baby is above and beyond. I will continue to buy these, thank you Hartz, though i did forget top mention that i bought two of them, one for my house kitty, one for my adopted neighborhood tomcat, and one was broken coming out of the box, the buckle is very flimsy and could definitely be improved! Its worth 10 dollars just for the difference my house kittyexhibits though. 10 dollars to go from miserable to mostly content? So worth it.So, i feel compelled to update this review. I noticed that my cat started sleeping all of the time and never cuddled with me anymore, then one time i heard her wheeze, which she never has before. Then i saw her with her head dangling off of the table looking actually scarily either dead or unconscious. She actually was just sleeping so deeply that she was completely limp and slow to wake. It scared me, so i did some research and found out that flea collars should not be put on kittens, unhealthy or elderly animals. There are heavy doses of poison being constantly absorbed into your babies skin while wearing them, and even a few weeks after if not bathed thoroughly. My cat is 13, and so i decided to remove the collar and bathe her thoroughly. She returned to her normal self. Within a couple of days she was her semi energetic lovey self. Lol. So i would just caution you to examine the cost to benefit ratio and your pets age and health.

I love how affordable these are and how well they work. We have 7 cats and with these we see no fleas. And very little ticks(the ticks there are, are dead though due to the collars). I find these tend to last more around 5 months (if my cats dont lose them in the woods) rather than the 7 months they say. But that's not an issue at all. Also the scent isnt so bad, I think it says fresh or something but it kind of reminds me a little of coconut and pineapple.

These are not the strongest or most effective, but they help. The fleas don't die right away, but they don't like being on my cats with these collars. I vacuum and wash their bedding, and my bedding, to control. I can hardly wait for first hard freeze!!

do not seem to be working very well anymore, at first they were great, not 2-3 months later seeing flees again. cats are starting to itch around the collars, also I've noticed a very distinct laziness develop in most of my cats. took collars off 2 days ago and they already seem to be perking up again.

Took 5 of the 7 months to finally rid the kitties of fleas, but it worked without me having to bomb the house... again.. or pay to flea dip them over and over. That crud can get pricey quick! I suggest buying this collar and covering the pets in coconut oil once a month. At the same time you do the coconut oil treatment, cover all your floors and furniture with baking powder [from the dollar store to save $] for an hour then vacuum up. It's a lot of work, but there Is no overnight treatment to rid your house and pets of fleas. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs. We tried dipping them and bombed the house twice. I swear it made the fleas worse and the house stink. My suggestion worked so much better. The house seemed rid of them by 3 months and the pets stopped scratching after 5 months.

Both of my cats had bad flea problems that was spreading into the house and carpets. I purchased sprays, liquids, powders, and then these collars, but all I needed was the collars. I put them on in Late September/Early October, and its now March, and they still work great. My cats had never had collars on before, and while they didn't really enjoy them being put on, they almost immediately forgot they were there, and are much happier now that they don't have to chew and scratch all the time anymore. Well worth the money, especially if you have cats with long hair and are indoor/outdoor cats. Best part, they can't hang themselves if they get caught on something - the collar has a safety feature that unclasps when enough force is pulled. I tested it myself with my hands and it works great, and easy to put back on the cat if the safety clasp comes undone. The product even smells decent, and less like chemicals. Highly recommend
