It worked great, had no smell that I could detect and my cat used it the whole time, he did eventually figure out how to remove it but that was nearly at the end of its usefulness so I just threw it out, 10/10 will buy again.

My cats live outside the majority of the time. When I bought these they were too young for topical gel so I bought these. The collers don't remove 100% of the fleas but did a great job especially knowing they are outside cats. The reflectors on the coller are great and help people and cars see them at night.

I have two cats and a back yard. Sometimes they like to escape so it’s worth buying to protect them from future ticks or fleas. I change it every 7months and it’s easy to add a tag and/or bell

I’ve used this product for years. We live in farm country and our cat is an indoor outdoor cat and I’ve never found any fleas or ticks on her The reflective strip gives her a better chance of being seen by passing vehicles when she’s out at night.

The buckle is poor. Put one on both cats and withing a week both were gone. I assumed somehow they must have clawed at them to get them off but I later found one in the yard and discovered the little rivit that holds the buckle to the end of the collar pulled through the soft material.I put the collar back on kitty using a couple of zip ties. If you get these just plan on adding a zip tie to be sure it does not fall apart.

I had heard bad things about HARTZ but I figured that most people exaggerate, was I ever wrong! When I unfurled the collars I noticed a lot of powder but I didn't think it unusual. I put them on the cats and they were ok with it for the first day. By the 2nd day they started vomiting. One cat vomits occasionally but my caleco never does so that was weird. By day 3 they were both lethargic. I picked my male up and I could smell a bad chemical smell on the collar. I immediately removed them and disposed of them. In a couple of hours the cats perked up. My female was hungry and energetic and my 15 yr old male was back to his old cranky and alert self. Praise God! I read a story of a cat dying from a blood clot after wearing this collar. So glad I noticed the smell and removed them! I guess its back to Advantage. Please throw these away. Don't buy them. They are dirt cheap for a reason!

Great price, and it works. I can't really complain. The collar is pretty much covered in powder, so you'll likely get some on your hands while putting it on your cat. This might obviously cause some concern with most people, but my cat has had this thing on for about 9 months (time to replace soon) and is no different than before it was on. You should obviously wash your hands thoroughly before doing anything else, of course. As for how well it works? Well, my cat is now a full time outdoor cat, and when I first moved into my current home the back porch (where the cat was at the time) got a massive flea infestation. I ended up letting the cat out back so that he wasn't locked in with the fleas (I also got the porch taken care of), and got the this collar to help the cat fend them off. I haven't seen a flea on him since, nor any evidence of him being bitten by them. I can't really expect anything more than that.

I prefer flea collars over the drops my vet sells. They effectively keep fleas off my pets and out of my house. Our family cats have worn flea collars since my childhood with no ill effect on their health or longevity. The drops have caused skin troubles in some of my cats, and I worry about them ingesting it, no matter how careful I am to apply it properly.UPDATE 5/6/2016: Still using this brand of collar on two indoor/outdoor cats with success. They prevent fleas which in turn prevents tapeworm. Some commenters say the collar is not breakaway, but all of the ones I have purchased do have a breakaway snap under the buckle, and I know it works because I have had kitties come in sans their collars on a few occasions. Fortunately these are both effective inexpensive to replace. The reflective strip also works well and comes in handy when I am out calling a kitty with a flashlight when she is too busy to come in for dinner.
