1.StyleName:150 Cam-matic® Cleat Rebuild Kit

  • Harken ball bearing 150 cam cleats hold lines securely and release instantly for easy, precise trimming
  • Aluminum Cam-Matics are hardcoat-anodized for high-load, high-wear, continuous adjustment applications
  • First are the 33 ball bearings in each cam, stacked on three levels to balance and start them moving so easily.
  • Next, the top of each cam is shaped to allow even a loaded line to drop in from above rather than having to pull them open.
  • Then, there’s the cam radius which enables them to hold a wide range of sizes while still being kind to the line.

Using on my one-stick with a 30” Hawk with top platform attachment. 2-1/2” 10-32 machine screws and nylocks. Only a couple uses, but great so far.

I first saw these on a hunting site and couldn't believe people were adding these to their climbing; once I said them, it made carrying and climbing so fast.

This was the cam cleat that seemed to be the most popular among those using the single stick climbing method. I used it to modify an old Summit Buck Step. This makes it much easier and quieter to connect to the tree. I order the mounting hardware from RDA Outdoors and got the Amsteel on Etsy. I also ordered the 13/64 drill bit. I was able to drill the stick with a hand drill in a vise. I'm happy with how it turned out and it holds on the tree great. May give the single stick climbing method a try eventually.

Well designed high quality product. Probably about 30% overpriced in my opinion. This is a very effective high quality product. I find it unusual that there is a rebuild kit available for it. And the rebuild kit is more than half the price of new. That alone seems odd. However considering the relatively high price of these in the first place, I would think that one should anticipate a significantly long enough life that a rebuild kit wouldn't be necessary. I stated initially however, this is a high quality and highly effective product.

In the sailing world, Harken is brand name synonymous with quality and durability. Even in the modern era of 'everything made in China', Harken's products remain of excellent quality and worth their price, which is not unreasonable in the first place. Sailors know that reliability is critical when the chips are down and the wind and seas are up.

If you saddle hunt you need this. It might actually be a bit overkill but when I am climbing in trees I would rather too much than not enough. It makes securing and unsecuring your amsteel a snap. A bit speedy for what it is but definitely worth it.
