The glass material is nicer than the clever drippers plastic materials. I bought this because the little feet and lid both broke on my clever dripper. I loved it but this is a great replacement. I love the switch and experimenting with different recipes that mix immersion and drip filter.

Makes a nice cup a coffee much cleaner and better then using a French press. It’s a good size for making 1 large coffee mug size maybe 2 small cups. I recommend this product seems well made.

I'm not a barista and I usually don't care too much for fancy coffee, but my ol' reliable french press was recently smashed to pieces. Rather than continue the same song and dance, I figured I'd try this immersion dripper after much research and recommendation. Completely blown away with the quality of the product and brew! The dripper has an immersion chamber, so the brew is super smooth and practically took out the bitterness of some subpar beans. The glass is really beautiful and thicker than anticipated. It's very easy to use and I like the room for recipe customization depending on individual preferences (I still enjoyed the method that came with the instructions).Excited to try out some recipes and show this guy off to guests and loved ones!

The Switch is a really great, versatile brewer. It can be used for a straight V60 pour over, a full immersion brewer, or a hybrid of the two. I typically use a hybrid method ( there are lots of YouTube videos showing different methods) or full immersion if I am getting breakfast at the same time because it is super easy. Very made and comes apart for cleaning. I have a lot of #2 filters so I use them for pour over or hybrid and use #3 filters for immersion. I'll just use the #3s for everything once the #2 are gone. Makes a great cup of coffee no matter how you use it but if you are the type who likes to experiment, it is really fun trying different methods.

This is a very simple way to make great coffee and you can use it in many ways. You can leave the valve open and it will function as a V60 pour over. You can leave the valve closed and do a full steep and just drain at the end. Or you can do any combination such as a partial pour over with a portion of the water and then steep with the rest. Fun to play with, smooth, tasty coffee, easy to clean, and well made. For the price it is a relatively inexpensive way to brew good coffee in just a few minutes.

I love this. its simple but really effective. unlike bonivitas porcelain one this one has a solid switch system that doesn't have needless joints and weak points. it gets hot but you're supposed ot be moving it by holding the silicone neck at the base. THE BALL DOES NOT FALL OUT. I read a review that the ball falls out so be careful and it made me think twice about buying this before going ahead as its just about the only option these days. They added small silicone ridges in the opening that prevent the ball from falling out if its flipped over. it may come out if its formally shaken and tapped from the bottom. Thats general not normal for cleaning or using this so you should be safe. the taste of the coffee is as expected and I am quite pleased with this replacement to my old broken bonivita or the endless burst filter form doing immersion by putting the filter in the mug and folding the top over the edge to hold it. I recommend giving this a shot if you like the immersion dripper style. its attractive and works great. I cannot speak to cleaning just yet but the bonivita was foul and needed a screw driver to dismantle and clean this cannot be worse than that as its 4 parts total including the ball and leaver. I got the 03 and I would say just buy that and give your self the option to make a larger cup even if its not your normal. The 03 still makes just a few ounces less than bonivita but pouring a little extra water in as it empties into your mug is not a big deal.if any note is to be made its make the flange that rests on the cup lidd a little wider for larger cups but it works for all the ones ive tried so far only being somewhat questionable on the largest.

I heard about this dripper from Youtube reviews first. After watching pro barista James Hoffman explain how he uses it, I ordered one to see if I could improve upon my Hario V60 process. And now after a few months of constant use I can confidently say that it makes the best coffee I have ever made, hands down.I have settled on the "coffee first, then water" technique, and I grind a little finer than for the V60. I also use a gram of extra beans compared to the V60. It uses the very same #2 V60 filters so no change there. With medium or medium-dark roast I set my kettle for 92 degrees C, then rinse the filter with 100g of kettle water with the switch closed so the water sits and heats the glass. Then I drain the cone out and put it on top of my coffee cup, and put the cup on the scale. With the switch closed again, I add 18 grams of ground coffee into the cone, then pour 240 grams of water from the kettle over that. I let that sit for about two minutes, do a light stir, then open the switch and let it drain into the coffee cup. 8 ounces of awesome coffee!--What I especially like:It requires much less fussing about than with the original V60. I don't have to keep watching the time to perform pours at specific intervals. This fits in much better with kitchen workflow especially at breakfast where I'm also assisting my partner (scrambling eggs, rinsing utensils, etc.).The process is forgiving. I can get distracted and miss the two minutes point, or let it sit for a few minutes after the drain out, and the coffee flavour hardly suffers at all.Consistency. Much less chance for random variability. If you use the same ingredient amounts and the same timing, you get identical delicious cups of coffee each time. It's not affected much by pour rates or techniques so you can use any old kettle and you'll be good. The resulting brew. Best. Coffee. Ever.--What I don't like:It has no handle so I have to be careful carrying it to and from the sink to avoid burning my finger tips. The little steel ball that is the heart of the Switch's valve can sometimes stick open and needs to be dislodged by poking it with a finger or tapping the cone on the counter. I'm used to checking for that now so I don't get caught out during a pour over operation. It requires a little more care when washing it than the V60 does. It's possible for the steel ball to pop right out of it if handled too roughly. It's trivial to pop back in, but it could possibly get lost or go down the drain in the worst case. Also the plastic lever -- the valve switch -- can become dislodged from its normal position and require some fiddling about to get it back into position. Be patient! It's easy once you figure it out the first time.---But despite these little foibles I just love this coffee making tool because it makes such wonderful, rich coffee with excellent mouth feel and a clean cup.
