A little tricky to install, positioning it just right. And takes some time to do it right, but works great once in place. You'll need to buy the mounting boards and some lag bolts and a stud finder if you don't already have one.I installed this in an 8.5 foot ceiling and it was able to get plenty of distance for my regular JL (not raised). Once installed, it is REALLY easy to lift and store the hard-top with a one hand, using the other hand to gently guide the top and keeping it from smacking into anything. Precision backing into the garage to lower the roof takes some skill though :)The only thing that isn't great is that it puts a lot of pressure on the rubber sealing around the top of the back window. Placing towels or something between the straps and the roof helps but I think I'll be making some sort of padded bracket to keep things from getting damaged when storing long-term.All in all, this is an affordable, space-saving solution.

Be ready to go to the hardware store, pulleys are low quality plastic!

Product works great. I'm neither a Boy Scout, nor a former Sailer.... So, knots not my specialty. Otherwise, this is truly a way for one person to lift a top!

I bought a new Jeep Wrangler a few months ago and my family was excited about cruising around with the hard top removed on nice days. I looked at other options for removing the hard top, but this product was the one that made sense to me. The hoist easily lifts the hard top off the Jeep and stores it next to the ceiling. I have a garage where space is at a premium. So, this hoist which either my wife and I can use to lift the top up and store it where we have space up on the ceiling is perfect! The installation was not difficult. Just requires a few 2”x6” wood boards, some lag screws, washers and basic skills.Lastly, this company is great to work with. I messed up as I was in a hurry to leave the house and accidentally forgot to unbuckle one of the straps and drove off. Totally, spaced out on that day! LOL. Anyways, there was no damage to my car or garage and the only thing that broke was the webbing strap. The company was quick to reply to my email and happy to help me order the parts that I needed. In short, this is a great product, totally worth it for the price, and a great company to work with!

Love this setup. I installed it with the help on my son in an afternoon. We were able to set it up, back our Jeep directly under it, and hoist up the top. It used to take at least 2 people, and a lot of garage space to remove our hard top each Spring. This is a game changer.

It was easier to install than what some people are saying. Took roughly 1/2hour. Makes removing the top a lot easier and stores it out of the way for the summer months. Yes you can build this cheaper with parts you get at your local hardware store, but the time it would take to gather everything and assemble it costs your time, and time is money. The ease of taking it out of the box and putting it up is well worth it.

It takes a little time to get all the pieces figured out. You need to be able to have enough room to move things around in the garage. It makes taking the top off a one-person job once it is installed. There is a lot of off the shelf hardware, but to buy all the pieces would probably just as expensive if not more than buying this kit. All in all it is well put together and does the job.
