These are like big glue sticks, but filled with washable paint instead of glue. Our 3 and 4 year olds love these paint sticks, and mom and dad love not having trays of paint and jars of icky brush-washing water sitting around. Very convenient, and much tidier than brushes and bottles of paint. We will definitely be getting more of these!

When I saw these poster paints in the tube, I thought that was such a great idea especially for little hands like my four year-old twin grandchildren. I tried to get them as much craft items as possible because there are plenty of boring days in the winter and right now it’s been extremely cold and they get a lot of energy for my daughter-in-law and son to try and keep them occupied when they’re not in preschool. So these poster paints brought a lot of fun. Of course you have to dress them accordingly for paint messes, but they had a very nice time creating pictures and keeping them occupied for at least hour and a half . When we visit them, we always spring some kind of craft item so we can sit with them and talk to them while we can get their attention which their attention band is not always easy to get. The paint dried quickly cleanup was not that bad at all. It was about what I would’ve expected they thoroughly enjoyed creating paint masterpieces. All in all if you have no problem with a little one making little messes and you have a place for them to create then I highly suggest these paint tubes. It makes it so much easier for the little ones to use.

We received the classic colors set of paint sticks, so it does not contain gold or anything metallic (this listing has the metallic version shown in the main photo by accident it looks like). We received red, orange, yellow, lime green, dark green, light blue, dark blue, violet, magenta, white, brown and black. These paint sticks aren’t exactly paint in the sense that they’re wet or messy. They draw like oil pastels or like an oil based lipstick but are water soluble. Hard to explain, but it’s not wet paint. My toddler can safely play with these with very little supervision which I love. If she gets it on her fingers (you’d have to rub it on your skin pretty hard), it washes off very easily with mild soap and water. The colors are vibrant, and you get a good amount of the “paint” —- which you can see in one of my pictures with the red colored stick, you can see how far it goes when rolled up all the way.I did a test to see how quickly it “dries” or basically when it sets in and doesn’t smear. It takes about 5 to 10 seconds to set - which is awesome! And even after one second, it smears just a little bit. You can see in my photo with the numbers “1, 5, 10”, I did a finger smudge test after 1 second, 5 seconds and 10 seconds. You can see that it did smudge a little after one second, but barely anything at 5, and no smudging at 10 seconds. I love that there is no smell, nothing toxic I can see (although I wouldn’t let my younger baby accidentally chew on these). My ONLY complaint is that the cap of the stick is hard to see. It looks almost the same on both ends, which you can see in my final photo with the bright magenta colored stick. The ribbed part (what you’d find on a glue stick to help you turn the dial) is shown on both ends, and you can barely see the fine line where the lid is separate from the body. I wish the lid was a bit different so my toddler can easily see which end is what. This means I’m often having to help her open a new stick and she can’t be 100% independent when coloring with these.Other than that, the quality is great, the sticks are fat enough for little hands; I love how smooth these write, the pigmented colors, and how mess free these truly are! If you’ve never used tempura paint sticks before, I’d highly recommend giving this brand a try!

The size of the paint sticks makes it easy to cover more space in a shorter period of time. The colors are vibrant. The paint isn’t runny so less mess. Kids like them so a great gift idea for kids who love art projects.

Nice set of paint sticks. Don't have any complaints. The colors are nice and fortunately I haven't had to try washing it out if anything yet. Easy for kids to use.

I saw a few YouTube videos where people were using these tempera paint sticks and I saw these and thought "I'd like to try them"..they are nice, they go on the paper so smoothly it's like as some say drawing with lipstick...and they dry relatively fast too which is something else I like..I've also heard some people say they are kind of like oil pastels(which they are IMO) but they don't smear once dry and they don't transfer to the facing page..they can if they're not completely dry though, but it's not that much..that's probably the only reason I never liked working with oil pastels is because they would transfer to the facing page unless you sprayed a fixative on them or put wax paper between the pages(which IMO is inconvenient)..these are primarily for kids, but I think anyone can enjoy them
