This item works great on Acute(D4, B, E. PA etc) lights and other profoto heads that have an external bulb. I would still recommend simply buying a profoto speed mount adapter ring and just convert your softboxes from bowens to profoto mount. This however works well for reflectors and other lights that don't have swappable speedrings. Using a native mount of course always works better since you get full zoom capabilities of the heads.

I recently switched from Photoflex strobes (bowens mount) to Profoto and I was looking for a way to still use my bowens light modifiers, this mount did the trick. My biggest concern after reading other reviews was that the mount would not fit on my Profoto D2 properly. I have been pleasingly surprised how well this mount has worked. Below is a list of the modifiers that have and have not worked on this mount.Quality, and use:Build quality is sturdy, and fits well on the D2 strobe. With the lock engaged the mount does not slip off even when a heavier softbox (5 foot) was used. Some of the standard bowens mount modifiers do not click into place as they should. This seems to be on a piece by piece basis, not on a specific model. In the case of two of my small reflectors - both the same model and same outward appearance, one fits perfectly and one will not click into place. It is for this reason that I give the mount four stars.Photoflex small reflector (2): one fit one did notPhotoflex Large 7 inch reflector (2): Both fitPhotoflex Snoot (2): one fit, one did not.Generic bowens mount beauty dish: fitPros:Fits most bowens gearGood build qualitySturdy even with large softboxes attachedFit well on the Profoto D2 sliding into place and locking as expectedLocking pin is a nice addition for safetyCons:Not all bowens gear fits - which ones do seems to be a bit hit and miss. Conclusion:Still with me? Awesome! if you found my review useful please do me a favor and mark it as useful. I'm a bit stretched on this mount. The gear that I needed it to work with did so that might have given me a better impression than it merited. I am happy with the fit of the mount, but I am not super happy with the fact that not all "standard" bowens gear fits as it should. Moving to the much more expensive Profoto world was a bit daunting, and I guess I am just happy I have found this mount so I can use some of my old modifiers that I have invested in until I can get new profoto modifiers.

Se avete accessori Bowens e flash Profoto questa è l’alternativa economica per non dover sostituire tutti gli accessori di luce.La chiusura con gancio è precisa e tiene come quella originale.

Works as advertised. The Bowens mount is a little bit tight, requiring a little bit of effort to mount the light modifiers. I've been looking for this adapter for a while, and I am very happy with it. If you need it, I recommend it.

it is very well build. Feels solid and rugged and it is as described, even better, but it is not a real solution. At the end you'll gonna buy every modifier made for profoto and here is why. As the diameter of the profoto head is bigger than bowens, the flat glass of the D1 for example can't pass through the converter. Stops 1 inch inside of the converter. Works great on bowens snoot or small reflector with grid or even in the background reflector works great, but for standard reflectors doesn't work so good. even in the softboxes, a brighter center point is noticeable and just is not the same as having a bowens head inside filling the whole softbox with light, not just the center. With beauty dishes doesn't look nice. The beauty dish with this converter generates not pleasant dark circles that you can clearly see in your pictures, the beauty doesn't work as it should, it works better if you buy a glass dome for your D1's, but not as having a flash tube exposed giving light in every direction, same for softboxes, but less problematic. it is ok if you can't buy modifiers after spend thousands on your lights and you have tons of bowens modifiers as I have, but in the end I know that I'm going to buy profoto modifiers . For now I'm still testing and trying to get the best results with some modifiers with this converter, as I said at the beginning, it works but it is not a solution. i see it more as a temporal solution or just an addition for some modifiers that weights more now.
