They actually last a long time in cold drinks, all day in lectures

great idea, and they’re great for cold drinks, but the claim that they work for hot drinks is bogus. they melt immediately.

I finally found a good alternative to plastic straws that doesn't taste weird (like paper). I don't know wether they are actually compostable. Drinking with them is like using classic plastic straws. Some of the straws arrived a bit deformed (see image)

Since these are made from organic material (sugar cane) I was concerned that these would disintegrate in my cocktail after an hour or two like paper ones do. I am pleased to report that these held up submerged overnight without breaking down at all.

Like the quality of the straws and that they are not a danger to wildlife after I throw them out.

I needed some small durable straws for my wedding reception and these were PERFECT! They look really expensive, but were such a great value for my money. They remained in tack and didn’t get soggy when put in the drink. They were eco friendly and super functional as well!! They didn’t leave a taste!!

I got these for my morning (let’s be honest, all day) coffees. I like that it can be used for hot drinks and it appears to be biodegradable. The fibers are strong and can handle being in drinks, unlike paper straws, but when I’m done I put them in my compost pile and the fibers seem to break down fairly easy. Also good to use as a stirrer since it can handle heatEdit. Don’t leave it in the cup while your coffee is dripping into it. Put the straw in after. It kinda just melted down. I learned that while rushing around one morning. No big deal though. My coffee wasn’t ruined and I just grabbed another one

These straws are sturdy, don't taste weird, and are quite durable, I left one sitting in a tall glass of water for 10 hours to see if they'd break down but it was completely intact and fine to use the next day. The only minor thing is that if you bend them they will probably develop a crack and won't work if the crack is above the upper part of the liquid. I also like that I can trim them to a "custom" length such as for use in a rocks glass instead of a highball glass length. One other thing is, I am so cheap that I rinse well after use and will air dry and reuse the next day sometimes 3 or 4 days running, I've done that with these straws numerous times without incident.
