The box is surprisingly well made, and smooth. I didn't feel any rough spots, and the hinges and clasp work smoothly.

I needed a box that wasn't too small to hold some coins and pins that I had in jewelry boxes. This bamboo storage box is perfect for that. The box is well made and sturdy and has a good weight to it. It is nice and smooth with no rough edges. The clasp on the front of the the box is easy to close not crooked or bent. This box is great for holding my small items. This bamboo storage box has eight slots and then one bigger one. This box has many uses it can hold a variety of small items. Thank you ;)

While the box was made for scientific purposes, but it is great for other items as well.It's a nice deep box. It has 8 deep compartments and one double-sized compartment. The small compartments are about 3.5 cm square and about 7 cm deep. The larger compartment is 3.5cm X 7cm and 7 cm deep. There are 8 small compartments and 1 large. The top has a little more than 2 cm depth, so you can put slightly taller items in the compartments.It actually works very nice for nail polish bottles...

I really like this box, and for the most part, it seems to be quality work. This is a bamboo box with a clasp and dividers (NOT removable). It's advertised as a box for gold and silver testing chemicals, and that's how I intend to use it.Test chemicals smell QUITE nasty. I had mine double bagged, in a plastic tote with a lid, and pushed under a table in the corner of my craft room. That did a fairly good job of blocking the odor, but everything inside the plastic tote smells like these chemicals! (Until very recently, I had only opened 1 of the bottles. The other bottles still had their protective seals on them. Yet I could still smell them!) As you can see in one of my pictures, I placed the chemical bottles in this box.....and once closed, I can't smell them at all! I even have the box on top of a table in my bedroom, and evidently bamboo is capable of blocking the fumes from penetrating the wood!So if you want a nice box with a latch to store your testing chemicals, I do recommend this product. I would have given it 5 stars if there weren't discrepancies between the description and pictures and what I received, even though I like the construction of what I received better than what was shown in the pictures!First of all, the description said that it was black, although all the pictures were of a natural colored wood. (I find erroneous descriptions to be quite annoying.) It also states that it could be locked. This is a feature I wanted, especially since it would be storing poisonous chemicals. However, as you can see in my second picture, it's just a latch with no way of locking it.This next discrepancy is the one that I like what I received better. My first picture is a screenshot from Amazon. It shows the sides of the box connected with "dove-tail" grooves (see areas inside purple rectangles), yet the sides are not actually connected that way. Instead, it appears as if they created multiple dove-tail connections (circled in purple.) I showed this to my husband, who is a carpenter. I wanted to know if the areas I circled were true connections or if they were painted or stamped onto the surface (since they are perfectly smooth.) He said that they were actual connections. He also explained that since bamboo is round and not very large (like trees), it probably had to be cut in smaller sections to produce a flat surface. (He explained this in more detail, but I wouldn't be able to repeat exactly how it was explained to me! It did make sense though!) He felt that the bamboo portion of the box was very nice....the edges are square, it's smooth, and the lid and base seem to be cut from the same piece of "prepared" wood. So once it's closed, it's very difficult to see a seam. I also asked him why the lid had the same cut-outs that they needed inside the box for the dividers, especially since the dividers weren't that tall. He said that was another clue that they cut the lid from the same wood as the base. They don't hurt anything by being there, and although it looks a little odd on the inside, the outside looks fantastic!The only other comment has to due with the hinges in the back. I didn't take any pictures of this, but one of the hinges is a little crooked. It doesn't cause any problems with the lid opening, closing, or staying open, but it is the only thing on the outside that doesn't look perfect!I also found the price to be reasonable, especially for bamboo. I do like this box and recommend it. Just be aware of the discrepancies with the description so that you're not upset or disappointed.

This box is more nicely finished than other bamboo boxes I have seen. And iIt is quite sturdy. The outside is very smooth, with a protective coating of something (varnish? polyurethane?). The corners are all tight, the hinges work well, and the clasp closes crisplyl. Inside, the dividers are very sturdy. From looking at the listing photos, I had thought that the dividers would be removable because the dividers are clearly set into deep grooves. But the dividers are not removable, they are glued tightly into those grooves. So the box stores only items of very specific sizes. This frustrates me, because even if the items I have fit today, tomorrow a manufacturer might decide to change the size/shape of an item for no useful reason and then, when I needed to replace the item, the new size/shape wouldn’t fit. I tried putting in essential oil bottles, and bottles as large as 30ml (1 fl oz) fit nicely. One of the bottles I tried only holds 10ml but it has a dropper cap that makes the bottle taller than other 10ml bottles. That bottle, which is about as tall as the 30ml bottles, fits too. Internally, the bottom section of the box is about 3” tall. The box can hold bottles taller than 3” because the raised lid has an internal height of about 7/8”. Note that the dividers come up about 2 1/8” tall. Each square section is almost 1 3/8” x 1 3/8”. The big section is about 2 15/16” long.
 Though I love the box, I must admit that there is a very small flaw on the back. Probably a very thin layer of the bamboo sheared off before the finish was applied. The little flaw is only 1/8” wide at its widest and about 4 1/2” long. This flaw would not be noticed by most people but I had to mention it. That flaw would not stop me from purchasing the box. I do not understand the product details at the bottom of the that describe the box as black and lockable. Neither is true. The box is bamboo color and the latch has no place to add a lock.
 Great box if you have items that fit the dividers.

I love that I can use this for multiple things at home. As someone who makes jewelry I found that this box is perfect to store my beads, jump rings, and spacers without them getting mixed up or tangled. The box is quite sturdy and well made! You can use this for multiple things so it makes for a great investment piece and or gift!

This is a nice sturdy case to hold all of my jewelry tester items & more.
