I don’t write reviews but I wanted to for this one because I have been on the fence so many times to buy a non traditional washing machine for the past year. I wanted something I didn’t have to pay a lot for, I didn’t want used, and I don’t need a normal sized machine because I live by myself and have my kids every weekend. Here’s some background info. I am an appliance repair technician and have fielded close to or probably over 10,000 service calls over ~8 years. I’ve seen it ALL. Which makes it difficult purchasing any appliance because I see how ALL the brands screw things up. Yeah, LG makes a great washer(I worked for them for a few years, saw their worst and most issues were either handled under warranty or the customer not understanding how it worked. A lot of issues were from shipping/delivery/installation). So does Speed Queen, but I don’t need or want to spend 700$-1500$ for a washer. It’s just me, and my kids every weekend. I don’t have a huge amount of laundry needing to be washed, but I can say, it’s enough not to want to go to the laundromat anymore. I came across this after looking at several other similar machines. This one offered a bigger size and the price was under 450$ shipped to my door. And it’s a size I can move without too much hassle.I unpacked it, tilted it back and wheeled it in front of my kitchen sink. I have a laundry room with a normal dryer and full washer hook ups, but I didn’t feel like dealing with all that. There is a washer there too, which, has big issues, which, would only make a garbage washer work sub par and I did NOT want to fool around with repairing(I love what I do and I wouldn’t change it for anything. Repair work is my thing. But people think I go home and love working on my own appliances. Not true. It’s why a plumber has the worst pipes in a neighborhood). I was just stoked not to have to deal with the laundromat. It came with everything needed to hook it to a normal sink with a quick connect fitting. With an extra hose for an additional hook up to hot water. I hung the drain line into the sink, and within 15 minutes of unpacking, I was washing clothes. The size of the machine is enough to wash a normal load of clothes. I even washed a queen sized corduroy comforter with zero issues. Also, it has wheels that when tilted back, it can be moved around. Easy to hook up and dismantle. Don’t expect it to be super easy though, I can move it with relative ease because I have long arms and am kind of tall and can tilt it back on its wheels, pulling it where I want to stow it until I decide to put it in its final spot in my laundry room. But I imagine there are many people who may need an extra hand. If I was to lift it and put a dolly with locking wheels under it, it would be perfect for many situations like tiny homes I would guess. It isn’t abnormally loud, fills the tub, it spins and extracts fully, I have had absolutely zero complaints so far. It’s built by RCA, very good quality, and can’t believe I waited this long to get a washer. I can’t begin to describe how impressed I am, especially at the price for what you get. It’s a VERY capable machine and I am very happy I got this. Some appliance nerd stuff in the next paragraph.Something I’m very impressed with, this does not have a door lock. It senses the door opening and stops, but makes it really easy to add clothes during a cycle. It has a lint trap on the basket itself, which isn’t typically seen in the US. Kind of cool actually and I enjoy seeing what’s in it after a cycle. The best part that I don’t see often on machines now a days, is that the drain pump filter is directly on the back. Super easy access and there is nothing difficult to get to on this machine, it’s really built well. For a new machine you can get for less than 500$ shipped to your door, you can’t beat it.So, my overall take is, if you’re on the fence, buy it. It’s a great machine and I don’t understand why you can’t buy these locally at normal outlets.

The first thing one needs to grasp is that at 3.0 cu ft this is a pretty large and heavy machine -- definitely a two-person lift. If you want to retain the portability feature I suggest you buy a "mobile roller" and install it on that like I did.I bought this RCA washer as a backup to my Frigidaire 3.5 cu ft Frontloader (which is currently out of service -- at least until I install the replacement part I just got from Amazon. Wish me luck!). It's nearly as big as the Frigidaire, too.Although the RCA washer is sold as a "portable" unit, it would probably be just as happy being placed in your Utility Room as your primary machine instead of hooked up to the bathroom faucet like I've done. I'm just relieved that by having this machine I don't have to drive all over creation to the nearest Laundromat and burn up hours of time there.I've noticed some reviewers have stated their machine arrived damaged, sometimes heavily. I must say UPS did an exceptional job delivering mine as I only noticed a very, very slight ding on the right side of the machine. If you weren't looking for it you probably wouldn't even notice it. It's totally cosmetic and in no way does it inhibit proper operation of the machine. As a Toploader, the RCA washer naturally uses a lot more water than a comparable Frontloader, which is to be expected, as clothes in a Toploader are fully immersed in water as opposed to partially submerged like a Frontloader. The last Toploader I had decades ago had the Agitator in the center of the tub, which for some reason I found, well, agitating. It was a totally mechanical unit (i.e. no digital displays or lights at all), tended to "walk" all over the floor when unbalanced, and was very annoying. In contrast, this RCA washer uses an Impeller and thus has no Agitator. I was skeptical about how well an Impeller unit would work, but I must confess it works exceptionally well.It seems that Toploaders with Impellers are in the minority, as nearly all units I've found have the Agitator. I scooped up this RCA Toploader for about $455 (including delivery), and at that price I would say this machine is an absolute bargain. I got it four days after placing the order with Amazon. Compare that to the local Big Box stores which quoted weeks for delivery for pretty much any washer. My only complaint so far is the necessity of running an additional Spin cycle for large loads like towels since the machine will not run at full Spin speed due to balancing issues. I consider this a minor annoyance instead of a major flaw. Just remove the towels from the tub, lay them on top of each other in a stacked configuration, run a Spin cycle only, and you will be good to go. With the balanced load the machine will then run at full Spin speed to squeeze out the remaining water.Overall, I would rate this machine at 4.5+ Stars. My only question is long term reliability and durability, so I bought the 5 Year Extended Warranty as an insurance policy just in case. Hopefully the machine will provide many years of reliable service and the Extended Warranty won't be required.

It's probably the largest capacity portable on the market, or at least that I could find. I washed a large winter coat with four t-shirts on the medium sized load. It's fairly lightweight and has fixed rear rollers that allow you to tip it to move it. If you need to move it regularly, buy an appliance base with locking castors. Works great. I bought it for off grid use though and don't have water pressure, so it was an experiment. I can use it but not on an end-to-end cycle. I can use a wash cycle, the separate spin cycle and then another wash and separate spin cycle for a rinse. Unfortunately the in-cycle spin spritzes water as it spins and so requires water pressure. My clothes came out nice and clean so I'm very happy. It also uses very little electricity so I can use it from my solar charged batteries.

I live in tiny apartment but I have a storage room this fits in. This does full laundry load, yes it does any full load you'd do in regular laundry machine. I have mine on dolly wheels to move back n fourth to my kitchen sink. Be careful the drain hose is flimsy and cheap thats the only negative. ITs loud when it spins I have only did large loads so far. I find pictures don't do this machine justice as its Huge This machine uses both powder or liquid laundry detergent I tried both. After every load i pull out the grey hose as there is always water in it. Theres a big plug on back you empty once a month. The electronic control panel you have to pause anytime you open the lid or error code shows up. This machine is 113 pounds. no more coin laundry for me. I already own a portable dryer so both of them are very convenient and save me money. This is 3.0 cubic RCA washer I have my giantex 1.6 cubic foot washer in front for little loads I use my giantex washer I love both washers

I have had this washer for a couple of weeks now and find it worth the money. It arrived well packed with no damage. I set it on dolly wheels which make it easy to maneuver around. It came with necessary attachments to hook up to your sink. It's larger size tub allows you to wash a good size load. Plenty big enough for a single person or couple. Select your wash cycle and go about your business and let the washer do it's thing or sit and watch tv as it is not very loud. For me it was a good buy.

I was shocked at its size of the drum. it can easily wash a twin blanket or double throw with a few things in it and I washed a few tops and jeans with other small items

This portable washing machine is fantastic! With a dolly base to move around this machine is far from “small” it stands at 4 feet tall and 2 feet wide. Efficient and cleans clothes thoroughly. Do not overload or machine will bang during spinning cycle. Hands down worth every penny!
