While I have only used the item once it lived up to it's description... take into account that I do not have their brand of meat press... but the fit was just fine and the removal of the pressed meat was far better than having to run the press under hot water to loosen the gel that forms during cooking... and it helped a lot with forming an even top on the end product... prior to its use many times the pressed meat oozed up around the spring plate and I would have to cut away at it before I could remove the finished product... I haven't had to do that with the bag...

These cooking bags are nothing short of awesome!I really appreciate that they are food-grade (otherwise I wouldn't be using them).They are extra durable and hold up to boiling and freezing making them a big money saver and better on my conscience since I hate throwing plastic anything away.I would say my favorite feature is that you lock in all those delicious flavors and retain the nutritious value of the ingredients you're cooking.Also, I do have a high level of concern about the teflon lining in one of my favorite cookers.I did not want to chuck the cooker since it has really great features and these bags are a GREAT SOLUTION!Our food is protected from the teflon stuff.You get plenty of bags and they have a variety of uses; I am even considering using them to make my own healthy lunch meats.Great product that I would highly recommend and plan to order again.

These bags make fanstastic meal-prep bags for cooking everything at once, from meatloaf to veggies (you're not just limited to using a ham press). I like the size and that I can fit a whole rabbit at once. I raise my own rabbits and mostly tend to cook them whole (parboiling) before I debone them, because deboning a young rabbit is tedious if it's raw but fast and easy when it's cooked. However, if you cook it too long, the whole carcass just falls apart in the crockpot and you have to fish it out piecemeal. With these bags, I can marinate & cook the rabbit in the bag, in the pot, while at the same time cooking potatoes or other yummy sides to accompany the rabbit, without worrying that anything will intermix or get bones in it. Very handy!

The thickness of the plastic in these Matiks poly bags are comparable to most zip top storage bags and definitely not as thick as Ziploc freezer bags nor Foodsaver bags. I was able to use the heat strip on my Foodsaver to seal these bags close though I avoided using the vacuum feature. They are slightly longer than the precut quart size Foodsaver bags so that is a plus. However, since these bags are thinner, I would avoid using them for heavier items and foods that you want to maintain flat as these bags bend easily while cooking. Furthermore, I would not use them for long term storage in the freezer.
