I bought this for stuffing summer sausage. It works really well for that. I feel like it is pretty easy to clean up. My only complaint would be that there is a largeish amount of meat that is left in the horn and I haven't found a really good way to get that all out and into my casings. Some people say that they use a dowel slightly smaller to put the last bit of meat out. It would be nice if the company that made the machine had some tool for that.

This changed my entire weekend! A group of cousins get together to make sausages a few times a year. I have a Lem grinder that we used to stuff 140lbs of sausage and it took forever! The grinder is for grinding and works amazing. A stuffer is for stuffing. The investment for this stuffer cut our time in at least a third! All the cousins were incredibly impressed by how quickly this thing made sausages for us. We ran 107lbs in less than two hours with a lunch break st the half way point!Solid construction. No sharp edges like in other reviews. Super easy cleanup. Performed better than expected. An all around staple that is quality made. Can't say enough about this stuffer. I expect it to last for many many many years to come.

All in all it’s a good machine the one thing I did not like it does not come with The most important nozzle the half inch which you need to buy for another $40 but other than that excellent machine

I don't process sausages and brats very often, but when I do it is typically in 15 or 30 pound batches. Previously I used the stuffing attachment for my grinder, but it was a pain to operate, resulted in lots of broken cases, and took significantly more time and effort to use/clean.This stuffer has smoothly operating gears and unlike a grinder attachment, allows very fine control over the flow of meat, which results in fewer broken and improperly stuffed cases. I like the fact that everything the meat touches is stainless steel or silicone (I don't use the Churro stuff, which is plastic). The fact that they include an extra gasket is great, since that is probably the first thing that will need replaced. This stuffer is a great size. I can put it on a 6' plastic folding table and everything is easy to reach and operate. Loading the meat is very easy and requires less time verse a grinder because you can load so much in one go and don't need to mess with it once loaded.Cleaning is also very easy since everything disassembles from the frame easily and is all stainless or silicone. Meat left in the stuffer is also minimized and easy to retrieve compared to a grinder attachment. The only downside I have found to this stuffer is that I now need a meat mixer because it is so easy to stuff 30 pounds of brats in a night, but mixing that much by hand sucks.

This is a sturdy stuffer that should last for generations. I checked the meat cylinder carefully to make sure there were no cracks or seams that meat could get stuck in. The cylinder itself is one smooth piece and the welds at the bottom where the elbow is attached are smooth with no rough edges. The air valve in the push plate works well and no meat can get pushed into it. I wasn't sure why I would need the second faster gear but it does come in handy to quickly bring the push plate back up. The unit wobbles a bit and needs to be clamped to the table. The only thing I found "wrong" with the stuffer is that the edges of the metal on the stand are razor sharp. After cutting myself 3 times, once while moving it and twice while removing the push plate, I covered all edges with black gorilla tape. This solves the problem for me but it wouldn't pass health inspection in a commercial type kitchen.

the only assembly required was the handle! I liked the quality of the unit, it seems well made, and was a heavier gage metal than I thought, which is a good thing! the only problem I see with all of the stuffers, not just this one, is where are the handles or handle to move the it with??? how about one on each side of the base, or one handle at the top, of course the gear shaft has to go up and down, and it would have to be a handle with a whole in it to allow for that. the 5 stuffing horns worked out real well, good diameter and length, and the churro disks is an added feature! there is no gasket on the nut to hold the tubes on, maybe for food safety reasons, and it comes with an extra main gasket, a real plus in my book. it seems heavy enough not to move with using it, and there are 4 rubber feet that fit real well on the base, or u can use the pre-drilled to bolt down to a counter. the manual does not have the address of the company, in California printed on it anywhere, but the package does. it is as follows:Hakka Brothers Corp. 1600 Worldwide Blvd. , Hebron, Kentucky 41048 or 23482 Foley St., Hayward, California. 94545 there is a exploded view of the different models in the manual, and parts numbers, but it doesn't give any address where to them from, and a warranty card but no address where to send it to either. designed in the usa, made in china ! there is also a bottle brush for cleaning, and it has an Air Vent on the plunger which unscrews for easy cleaning, and the cylinder tilts for easy reloading of meat and cleaning. the base is not solid, its hollow, but if it needs more weigh, that can be filled in with some S.S. welded in. The base is 12" wide x 9" deep and the unit is 20" tall. it is 2 speed and the handle can only go on the right side as shown in the photo. the horns have a 2" base. spray the shaft with food grade oil or food grade grease.
