Good quality box, but not easy to program, and the app would not work for me at all. I liked the box, but gave up after trying for a few days to get it to work. Got another box and programmed that one on 10 minute.

I found this product to be EXACTLY what I needed to store documents and weapons while traveling across country. Easy to fit under the back seat of my Avalanche (with room to spare) and the security cable is a great feature. The fingerprint access is outstanding for quick access. If you need something to store important items, it's not the biggest safe, but it is definitely secure and handy.

Pinworld K-5 Biometric Gun Safe ReviewI purchased this safe and then decided the next day I would return it. While it has some really great qualities, there are others that are not so great, one in particular that I couldn’t live with which is why I decided to return it.First the great qualities:• This safe is a beast; If I’m not mistaken it is built with 10 gauge steel and is extremely heavy duty and durable; I’ve seen the videos with people shooting it and running over it, vey impressive.• The top is designed with a curl around the front edge; I’ve not seen many safes with this feature; this prevents anyone from sticking a screwdriver or other tool, knife, putty knife, etc., under the front of the lid to get it open; this is a great security, anti-theft feature and why I initially decided to buy this safe; most guns safe are built with a flat top which may provide an opportunity for someone to slip something under it and break into it.• It’s big, plenty of room for a full-size gun plus a sub-compact and a couple of magazines.• I read about the accuracy and consistency with the biometric technology to read fingerprints; while I didn’t have the safe long enough to qualify these claims, I didn’t really have a problem with the technology, it seemed to work pretty well while I had it and the one or two times it didn’t read my fingerprint it was clearly because I didn’t apply my fingertip to the button accurately. Now, the faulty features that drove me to return it:• Set-up with confusing instructions: the directions are not written in first language English but are easy enough to understand and follow; the problem is they are not accurate; for the initial set-up of an administrator code, I followed the directions carefully (I am not a dumb person), but they did not work and the box did not behave as indicated by the directions; that is, when the directions said do this and that will happened, that didn’t happen; after messing around with it for more than 10 minutes I was about ready to give up and send the safe back but I decided to try a couple of other things not aligned with the directions and I was able to figure out how to program an administrator code; I went through the same frustrating process to input an administrator finger print and a second finger print; all-in-all it took me more than 20 minutes to do all that; it was frustrating an uncalled for.• The app is a third party utility type app that a user can program with a variety of wireless devices and tools; it is developed in China, where the safe is manufactured and I wasn’t going to risk who knows what to download the app on my phone and this is why I intentionally chose not to use it; this kind of device should have it’s own dedicate app, but it doesn’t.• The back-up power connection is installed on the front panel, this is clumsy and I expect it was done because the batteries are installed in the front where the power must be located so it was easy to put the connection there instead of in the back; dumb and clumsy but workable; PineWorld needs to work on this.• It’s makes noise when it opens. It’s not terribly loud, but loud enough to make a noise that can be heard 40 or 50 feet away in the dark night in a quiet home. If you’re looking for stealth operations when you unlock it in the middle of the night, you won’t find it with this safe.• Finally, the deal breaker – there is no interior light; I set up the safe during the day and got it working then put it in it’s place; the next day a thought popped into my head making me question whether or not there was an interior light, I didn’t remember noticing one during the set-up in daylight; I opened the box and there was no light; I waited until dark and opened it again after turning the lights off in the room; the box was pitch black – I couldn’t see a thing and had to fumble to find the gun; this was the deal breaker; I’m not sure how this happened – almost every other box I looked at, including much less expensive boxes, all had interior lights and I can’t believe there wasn’t one on this box; as I said this was the deal breaker for me; the last thing I want to have to think about when I’m grabbing for a gun in the middle of the dark night is where is it, thanks anyway; if this isn’t a deal breaker for you, enjoy the box for it’s may fine features.• p.s. for the record, the keypad does not illuminate in the dark until one is touched, so I had to find the fingerprint reader in the dark also, but this wasn’t as difficult as it seems and I’ also not wure what other options to illuminate the keypad their could be.

This gun safe is great It works via wifi/phone, finger biometrics, digital combination or key. It is fast responding to biometrics. Light turns on when lid opens... great feature. Hold gun, clip, jewelry and/or cash. Compact size is nice.

I was looking at the more expensive competitors, but I have to say this safe checks all the boxes. I think this kind of safe is not really meant to store valuables as someone can easily just take the whole thing with them. However, it makes a great gun case, or perhaps to store something you use a lot. The case comes with a long steel cable that makes it easy to loop around a piece of furniture. The cable is thin and the connection to the case does not look super beefy, but it will do the job to keep prying fingers off. The buttons are easy to find and press, and are well lit. The fingerprint reader works well, but keep in mind that changes to your finger or finger positioning can be a factor on working correctly (e.g. I rock climb, so my fingerprints tend to not read correctly with any fingerprint device). Overall very happy I did not spend hundreds on another brand. Yes, the more expensive brands may look fancier, but this works just as well.

This safe is pretty nice. The fingerprint scanner seems to be working and opens without issue. I’ve also been able to set everything up in the app, though some of it isn’t exactly intuitive and the names used for certain labels aren’t translating fully. My only real gripes are a limitation on notifications in the app (you can only configure 3 user/receiver alerts, so if you set up more than 4 accounts, and assuming one of them is yours, you can’t be notified of everyone accessing it) and the fact that it only supports 2.4ghz wifi (no support for newer bands), so I had to pull out an older WiFi router and set it up in bridge mode to enable the WiFi functionality of the safe. Fortunately, I had kept my older router, so not the end of the world. Other than that, the case itself is strong and sturdy, and seems like it will last. These fingerprint scanners can become quirky. If I have any issues I’ll be sure to update my review. On the positive end, I really like that it has set of keys in case it runs out of batteries, and you can “boot” it down to something sturdy to prevent someone from running off with it. For the price you really can’t go wrong.
