- It works on the pistols or objects made by hi-carbon steel (magnetic). A few guns, Walther P22 for example, are not ferrous for the most part and cannot be locked by magnet.

I bought these to attach to my lathe and drill press; they provide a home for the key to the Jacobs chuck. A plain uncovered neo magnet tends to flake the plating off through use, so I wanted to try these instead. They are perfect for the job. Because a chuck key is pretty light in weight, no need to use screws to attach the magnet; the included 3M DS tape does a great job keeping it in place.

The magnet is too weak to hold up a small pocket pistol. The rubber sleeve comes off easily. The cushion sticky pad included for each was incredibly difficult to separate from the its own backing. It was pretty much destroyed and stretched all out of shape by the time I able to separate and peel it off. I have purchased a much better version available on amazon. Its has much stronger magnets and the rubber is an encasing and does not come off. Keep shopping!

This is a pretty strong magnet but a little misleading saying it is 32lbs. I can easily hold a pistol under 30oz but it barely holds my 32oz target pistol under my desk. Can easy hold my CCW but I would not trust anything over 32 ounces.

Works as intended, magnets nice and strong but I am only giving 4 stars because the magnets are not one unit but three smaller magnets and it is possible to position a firearm where it is not as securely held. This thing could also be bigger by a bit which would allow attaching both a sidearm and another magazine.It works and it does hold a fully loading, 18 round with tactical light/laser sidearm firmly when placed so the magnets can grip it solid.
