I've been playing guitar for 59 years. And in that time as a touring pro. I also worked as an instrument repairman and luthier. Culminating in owning my own store and then retiring. I've seen some Rosewood in my day! Rosewood has a unique smell when cut or sanded and this wood does not have that. So, I'm reporting that it is NOT a common Rosewood like Indian. Might be some off brand from say Bolivian or Caribbean Rosewood. So if I'm buying Rosewood, I expect it to be instrument quality from Brazille or India!

I was disappointed with the color that these arrived in **The picture shows them as Bright Red but look at my pics** They’re reddish but not Bright as described and look.. but I’ll just go up to Home Depot and get a Bright Red Stain **For the project I’m working on needs this color.. I didn’t have any major issues with these. They seem pretty hard and they polish up quite nicely. The pieces pictured was not finished. That shine is just from sandpaper up to 2500 grit.

Arrived quickly. Nice grain. Will require a lot of sanding but it is plenty thick enough.

Great Value, nice thickness, size and quality. My vintage Hondo Acoustic guitar fell over in a calculated scientificManner landing on a tuner and snapping the headstock clear off. Had to replace the original rosewood veneer after the repair and it looks great now!
