When played correctly, it is large enough to create a realistic ribbit-like sound, like croaking frogs. It is also a low-range pitch as a wood-tone block. INSTRUCTIONS: Use the wood stick (included) to gently rake up the frog's back to create a lower-pitch cricket chirp. Or lightly tap the nose of the frog with the thick end of the striker to get a resonating note as a wood-tone block. Store the striker in the frog's mouth.

Love the quality and colors. Sound great and are very good value. Kids love playing with them. 3 sizes also give you some options. Would recommend.

Our students absolutely love these musical instruments! Our school music teacher starts in the spring when the frogs are starting to come out of hibernation and put them all around his room. Each class will come in and try to find the “new” one that has just emerged from the colder months. The children love to sit in a circle with several different ones and have the frogs “talk” to each other. If you close your eyes it sounds like you are sitting by a quiet creek at night. I talk about the frogs but we have just received a cricket and a pig which are so unique and cool in their own way. I can’t wait to see the children’s. Excitement when the hear them.

These little frogs came exactly how I expected them to be, I am very pleased with them and they look really cute on my shelf. The owl whistle was a nice little bonus, especially since I love instruments being a musician. :)

I have 4 little boys ages 2, 4, 6 and 8. We live in the woods where we always hear frogs. This was such an exciting fun entertainment for my little guys. Super cute and easy to play with. I plan to get more in the different sizes to add to our collection along with other fun musical instruments.. They also look adorable sitting on a shelf.
