Purchased this HDTV converter for it's ATSC 3.0 support. This box has very weak reception. I have multiple TVs and they all perform way better than this box. I was expecting the ATSC 3.0 to perform better which all articles on ATSC 3.0 state, but this wasn't the case. Never was able to program remote to control my tv. Haven't tried the DVR option yet.

Update to five stars, both problems below resolved: Unit turns off and on using the ARC connection, so no need to press the power button on the remote, solving the following concern. WAS: The remote switches off my TCL 65QM751G TV, making this unusable even if it did work. Two immediate problems:1) Update: The device works as intended plugged into my Yamaha Atmos system which is connected to the TCL. The Android TV interface comes up and I was able to scan for channels. WAS: After showing an initial GTMedia logo for 10 seconds or so, the image disappears, leaving my TV's "no signal, check connection" standard message. No Android TV interface shows up.2) The remote that comes with the GTMedia X1 will shut off my TV when I use it to turn on the X1. Annoyingly, it won't turn the TV back on... How can I be a self-respecting couch potato whe I have to get up from the couch and switch the X1 on at close range in order to watch broadcast TV? I'll be drummed out of the Couch Potato Union!
