I bought this Grundfos recirc pump because it has the Adapt capability that automatically learns and adjusts the pump speed based on household hot water usage. Unfortunately the instructions for attaching the pumps sensor to a pipe are very poor. I am not sure which pipe to connect to and ended up trying 3 different lines (recirc return, recirc out, and hot water out) and none seemed to cause the pump to work properly. I have tried to track down any sort of instructions or a white paper that describe how the sensor works and where to connect it. I have had no success. I have contacted the Seller, Grundfos, and of course, done a lot of Googling to try to find something. I have used Grundfos recirc pumps in the past and like them but I cannot recommend this model. If anyone from Grundfos reads this, please let the product manager know that a white paper discussing the Adapt mode would really help! Also, I'd like to know if the impeller continues to rotate (albeit slowly) when the unit is in Standby mode, to prevent varnish and/or calcification.

If you sell a product in USA the instruction should be in English. I have looked online and all theyt talk about is how good it is. There is another person who is having the same issues as me. On the instruction manual there are pics onl. There is nothing to figure out where the sensor goes. Mine does not pull out and is jammed. I spent 2 days trying to figure this product out. After installation the new pump will only come on after wasting lots of water for the first user as it is designed to be " More Energy Efficient"

Purchased as a replacement for a prior generation Grundfos pump that failed after 2 years, i already had the 1 1/4' unions in place and this one fit perfectly (i was original worried I'd have to shorten/lengthen the pipe to get it to fit). Started up right away and had no issues and it seems like the "auto" mode always has hot water at the faucet, not sure how it will work out long run. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is due to the horrible instructions provided (only pictures and no words) and no support from Grundos, they have a ton of sales videos but not a simple installation video.

It works fine when continuously "ON" But the learn your usage feature does not seem to work. The picture book instructions are confusing and incomplete. Did a work around by using a cheap 24 hour timer to turn unit on and off at desired time! So now it works like the unit it replaced!
