  • Serrated grass sickle makes quick work of cutting grasses like Monkey Grass
  • The blades feature a long serrated edge specifically designed to cut through the strands in grass leaves
  • The shape of the blade is optimal for cutting grass
  • Super lightweight
  • Made in Japan

Ever tried cutting Monkey grass or something similar with normal shears? The texture of grass makes it hard to cut and wears down shears quickly. The key is serration, which enables quick and easy cutting of grasses. The serrated edges on this sickle were specifically designed for cutting grass and they are fantastic at it.

will not order again........like some reviews have said and posted pics...... if you cut ANYTHING even the least bit tough with this the blade, edges break/chip out.....not good!!!! i just was trying to cut some thick dead grasses and blade chipped out...unacceptable!!!! HIGHLY doubt this is made in japan...china most likely. yes blade is very sharp, problem is cheap steel blade and VERY thin like tin can lid breaks very easy. then to top it off the seller.....UJC Mart Japan, does not offer returns!!! thank goodness amazon backed me up. i will never buy from this seller again!!

Perfect for thinning / cleaning heliconia, bromeliads, gingers and the like.Had HEAVY damage in my tropical garden caused by hurricane Irma. Great for getting in and around the bases to take plants to the ground for revival. That's just for starters - very handy tool. Great price.Have used a shorter version for years. Like this one even more.******UPDATED REVIEW*****After one day of cutting tool lost a good 1/3 of its teeth. Poor quality cutting tool.I DO NOT recommend this tool. For the real thing check into Barnel Cutting Tools. Been using one of their blades for years. After buying this blade I went back to Barnel and found the long handle and short handle versions and purchased both from Sears online. The quality is night and day while the prices are not very different.

Not for heavy use. The teeth break too easily.

The blade on this grass sickle is stamped out to shape the metal. That is an indication that it is not especially hard or strong. Some of the other reviews show how theirs have failed because of that. The teeth are sharp when first received. I have been using this tool to help remove grass around other plantings. The blade does a good job of cutting through grasses if I grasp with one hand and hold this sickle in the other hand to cut. It will cut through a large bunch that I could not cut with shears. The shape of the curve allows me to cut very close to the ground. The serrations make easy work of cutting. Using a lighter touch might save it from breaking. The shape works well for right-hand use. It is awkward to use left-handed.For clearing large areas, other tools would be better.

Item used once to cut Zebra Grass, and the metal tore at the top of the handle. Up until metal tore, devise was excellent.

While the product took a bit longer to arrive than I would have liked, it was worth the wait. I absolutely love it! The weeds in our garden got out of control this year due to lots of rain and us not being able to weed without pulling up huge blobs of mud. The weeds were ridiculous. With this grass sickle, I was able to clear large patches of weeds very efficiently and also work very delicately around the plants in the garden. This sickle is perfect for cutting the weeds that grow near our deer netting too. We can cut the weeds without damaging the netting. This grass sickle is exactly what I was looking for.

I was a little taken aback when this arrived - I thought it would be bigger - but it certainly gets the job done once you have the technique down.We had a problem with our lawn mower and in about a month our back yard was literally knee-deep in weeds. There was no way the mower would handle that and a string trimmer wasn't really up to the task.So I thought I would give this a go. The trick, I believe, is to hook the blade behind what you're cutting and then pull it towards you. It goes through stuff like you wouldn't believe, and faster than you would think.Well worth the modest cost.

This grass sickle is an effective hand tool for cutting back ornamental grass in the Spring or any other grass or weeds. It is incredibly sharp. I did a little research before buying - this is not a scythe, which is much larger and used to cut back large areas of grass. The grass sickle is meant for smaller trimming jobs. I simply grasp the grass with one hand and pull the blade across it with the other. However, apparently more talented people use a back-handed tennis-like motion (so they don't accidentally cut themselves) without holding the grass at all or they use a stick in their off hand to roll the grass towards the sickle in the other hand.

I ordered this Noko Kama (grass sickle) to be able to harvest my barley plot. After looking at many other options, I went with this one as it seemed to be the most solidly constructed. When you have it in your hand, its light weight is very deceptive, you think it can't possibly hold up to the task of harvesting tough barley and wheat stalks, but its serrated blade cuts right through with only light pressure and sawing. I was able to knock out my 200sqft plot in a matter of hours from standing grain to shocked harvest (stacked bundles) with barely any exertion. I'm definitely a fan and will be getting another so my wife can join me in next year's winter wheat harvest.
