The ceramic mechanism locks onto the wire, resulting in a bond that lasts season after season. The ceramic rollers are rock-hard and super-tough to deal with extremely hard high-tensile wires. Simply push wire or cable into the ends, leaving at least a two inch tail to allow for easy adjustment or re-tensioning. Once in position, serrated rollers grip the wire as soon as reverse tension is applied The medium Gripples can be used on 14 - 10 gauge smooth wire and 15.5 gauge barbed wire. A torque tool (TGTTP) is available for applications where high tensions are required.

I liked these when I first started using them. They installed very easily, assuming you have a couple of inches sticking out to grip with the tensioning tool. There's a tension release tool that is a hard, straight pin that inserts into a very small hole in the Gripple. Pushing on it is supposed to release the catch and then you can pull out or readjust the wire. However, two drawbacks... 1) to be able to release the catch in the Gripple requires that all tension be removed from the wire, which isn't always possible, but more importantly, 2) the catch seems to become frozen in place over time and can't be released, even with tension off the Gripple, no matter how hard I press the release tool. I experienced this on Gripples that I installed last spring and ended up having to cut the wires; quite annoying given the price of the Gripples, which are advertised as "can be readjusted at any time." To be clear, I haven't been able to release any Gripples that I installed last year.

I build livestock and ranch fences for a living. Gripples have been game-changers for me. Not only do they make a splice much easier, they make it so you can pull extra slack out of the fence on a line-by-line basis. If I'm using woven wire fence, I'm using gripples. However, you will need the gripple tool to use them effectively.

Used these to join sections of my steel wire deer fence together. Simple to use; no special tools needed other than your wire fencing tools. Been up for more than a year now and these clamps are holding fast. Would purchase again if needed.

Never used this before and my wife and I installed 1900 feet of post and fence. These things are SO EASY to install and can even be reused by cutting the wire and pushing it through to install another wire. Would DEFINITELY recommend. VERY Strong.

I am a caretaker. I had to drop the lower trellis level on 22 rows in a vineyard to be able to excavate. I wanted a way to get the trellis wire out of the way and to be able to reinstall it quickly and easily as I work generally alone. God gave me wisdom and I was able to drop all the rows in a hour and able to put the whole trellis and drip system back in for the vineyard in six. That included adjusting top and bottom wires and post gripples as well. The gripples are strong and with a wire stretching tool I can relieve the pressure and disengage them with a gripple release pin. It saves time and money for you and for your clients.
