I was only able to use this tool about 5 times before the wood split on me. Grill dog was not left outside but in a cupboard in my kitchen. Went to use it yesterday and found it like this.I liked it while it worked but will not purchase again. I'll just make my own out of a 2x6.

And yes “that’s what she said”, cleans my bbq in 4 swipes. And when my hubby mouths off at the bbq, you can keep him “in line” with this thing, she’s got some weight to’her.

This worked for one season. I only gave it 4 stars because I can’t really keep it under my storage area that my grill has. It would rot from the elements even with my Webber cover. So it can bring in grill ash into your home. Otherwise I feel much safer using this over any wire brush that says it’s “wire free” it does work and the wood does make grooves just like your grill. For reference I have a gas Webber grill with three burners and it works on my original cast iron grates I’ve had now for over 10 years.

I still use a brush in addition to this to get between the grates but it's great for a quick wipe. Good quality.

It’s a pretty good quality product but at the end of the day it’s still just a piece of lumber cut to size. I’ve seen other scrapers that seem to be more professionally made while this is visibly a cut piece of 2x6 but it still works great

I bought this brush after my buddy's wife had to go to the hospital with metal fragments in her throat after eating food off a grill scraped with a wire brush. Obviously scared the heck out of me, so I dove into my wooden scraper search and settled on this one.I used it for the first time last night. Heated the grill first, then went to work and the grooves started to burn in right away. The smell was incredible - think the inside of a sauna - and it was surprisingly effective at scraping even without the grooves totally set in.Looking forward to using this and not dying from metal fragments in my insides. Will definitely recommend as well.

MADE IN THE U.S of A! I was very excited to purchase the Grill Dog and stop getting metal hairs or deal with nasty grease caked brushes like previous grill scrapers I've used for my outdoor grill. So far I have not been disappointed. It's easy enough to see this as just a slab of wood, but there are some design choices that one can truly appreciate. First the choice of untreated cedar wood. It is a light weight wood long used traditionally by Native Americans grilling foods on cedar planks over the fire. The wood itself is also slightly fragrant, if you like the good wood smell. Without any chemical finishes, the scraper is still smooth to the touch and the curved handle is a nice ergonomic touch. The size is good for medium and larger grills but might feel a little unwieldy for a small one. It has a small hole at the end you could use directly to hang it or tie something around the hole to accomplish the same. It has one branding mark on the one side of the scraper that is not ostentatious in any way. As with most wood scrapers, you will need to follow the directions included to burn the grooves of your grill top into the scraper and thus customizing it specifically for your grill. I've used this a few times and it is scraping just as good as non-wood scrapers so far. If this tool holds up for several years then it was worth the reasonable price.
