- #117 in MP3 Cassette Player Adapters
DirectDeck is the easiest way to enjoy any portable music player through your cassette-equipped car stereo system. Plug DirectDeck's audio jack into the headphone port of your portable audio player, insert DirectDeck's cassette adapter into your tape player as you would any cassette.

This product was just what I needed. The cord was long and would transmit the audio with great quality. I would advise anyone thinking of buying one to buy this one. I have had other similar products but they were nothing compared to the quality of this one.

Doesn't work!

I like the ability to play music from my ipod through the speakers in my (non bluetooth enabled) car. The options for a cassette deck adapter are few so this got a lot of use. Unfortunately, the wire from the adapter is so thin that it starts to break after six months, making the playout spotty. I've gone through three of these and had the same problem each time. Finally had to give up on playing music through the speakers and stick with headphones. :(

Due to a recent mishap with the vacuum breaking the cord, I had to replace my Griffin Adapter. I have used it for about two years and really like it. Before I had an adapter that played through my radio and didn't work very well. It works well with my car cassette player and sounds great with my iPod. It is a good product with a great price!

Well first of all, the item was shipped very quickly and perfectly on time. The sound is amazing!! I tried it in a few different car stereo systems and it sounded great in every single one. The price was unbelievably low considering the quality of the product. I highly recommend this product!

I had a Griffin Cassette Adapter from 2007 that needed to be replaced. The cord and the jack had been smashed in my car's ashtray one too many times. I went to Target and they were priced at around $20. I only paid around $5 for it back in the day. I came to Amazon and found this product for $.01, that's a lot more appealing. The old adage "You get what you pay for" couldn't be more true in this situation. While it will still allow me to listen to my iPod in my car, the sound quality just isn't the same. On my previous Griffin Adapter you could hear all the different layers of the music tracks; this new adapter makes the music sound pretty "blah". I'm not sure if I have a defunct product or if the quality of Griffin's adapters has changed. Regardless, it's not bad for a penny - but I wouldn't pay much more for this particular product.

I have not had any problems with this cassette adapter. It was cheap, works as described, etc. After going through at least 10 decks and FM transmitters that broke and weren't loud enough, I am satisfied with this purchase because the volume control is great, it works just as well as any FM transmitter (if not better) and I don't have to take my iPod out of it's case in order to play. The music can be a little fuzzy at times but after a few minutes of fiddling with the volume controls, that's easily fixed. This is exactly what you need if you want a convenient way to listen to your music in the car. Plus, I am not limited to my iPod -- I can hook up my laptop or anything with an earphone jack. No more searching through FM stations to try to find one that is blank and then having to switch your transmitter to that station. No more docks that break and are bulky and my iPod won't fit with the case on. This is such a great alternative, and it's like 1/4th the price. Recommended.

The item arrived on time and when I opened it, it was just a cassette in a pouch without any protective packaging like you get for a genuine Griffin cassette adapter. The cassette head was having dirt smudges and a scratch on it. Definitely a used item or a counterfeit clone.Stay away from this dodgy listing.

I owned an earlier version of this for several years and it worked really well, but I wore it out. This new version of the direct deck is awful. The sound quality is poor at best and it is hard to control the volumn, in fact, it's hard to get any volumn out of it at all. I bought two of them thinking that I'd have a spare. That was a mistake. The first one just quit working after about a month. Totally, just stopped. Sadly, I waited too long to return the one I hadn't opened. I won't buy another one and I don't recommend this to anyone else.
