About this item

  • Single-coil soundhole pickup
  • Mounts easily into most acoustic guitars
  • Alnico 5 magnets
  • DC Resistance: 14.6k, Inductance: 8.0 Henries
  • Includes internal cable from pickup to ¼" end-pin jack

The Gretsch Deltoluxe magnetic soundhole pickup creates versatile electrified acoustic tone and reproduces the true sound of your instrument, without the "quack" of a piezo pickup. This pickup excels when plugged into a small tube combo amp for vintage-inspired bluesy tones to Hawaiian-style slide playing and anything in-between. The tortoiseshell and chrome design is inspired by the timeless look of some of the first pickup designs from the 1940’s while also incorporating modern functionality. Includes end-pin mounted jack that is hardwired to the pickup. Easily mounts to most acoustic guitars and can be permanently mounted by a qualified technician.

Looks nice and easy to install. I found that sound needs an EQ to have high quality. For just a bit more money, you can get much better quality.

Was just what I was looking for, tone wise. Sounds crips with that oh so appealing vintage look/feel. Installation without drilling into your acoustic is easy enough with the “leather?” strap for the output jack that attaches to your strap button. (Don’t pay mind to how I don’t have mine attached to said button at the moment)

I was looking for a soundhole pickup with two criteria. It had to be hot and it had to make an acoustic guitar sound like an electric guitar. This one meets both and is relatively inexpensive. I was looking for the sound from the late 1940s when a lot of country blues players went electric. A sharp tone with some distortion, similar to Lightnin' Hopkins, Elmore James, or Joe Hill Louis. This, combined with a small tube amp does it for me.If you're looking for a pickup that makes an acoustic guitar sound like itself only louder, you'll need to look elsewhere. A good piezo or a combination magnetic and mic or piezo will give you what you're looking for.

Easy to install, great for a twangy sound. Not a generic acoustic sound like other pickups.

I had purchased a Recording King Dirty 30's parlor guitar for an inexpensive addition to my guitars. But I found the gold foil soundhole pickup very noisy and picked up all kinds of extraneous sounds when touching the guitar.Saw that the Gretsch Jim Dandy parlor guitar used the Deltoluxe pickup. I was having a difficult time finding a pickup small enough to fit this size guitar.Bought the Deltoluxe and installed it with an input jack connection. The sound is great. No extraneous noise now.Installed the pickup as close to the neck as possible to pick up the warmest tone possible.Very pleased with the Deltoluxe.

I like the tone and I like the vintage look. I added a volume and tone control for more versatility. Only 4 stars because this pickup emits more noise than I expected.

Great pickup option if you are looking for a more electric than acoustic sound. I am using on a Jim Dandy and I love it. There is a bit of noise which is common with a single coil, part of the sound. No feedback issues at all. I had to drill a hole to install which was a pain but the install is very easy if you already have a hole there. For the price and the look it is great. If you had to pay for install it might be a bit steep.

Sonido mejor de lo esperado, ya sabemos que no tiene controles de volumen y tono pero no importa mucho, los tiene el ampli. Da un sonido muy limpio y espeso, ideal para blues. Muy recomendable

I ordered this pickup for my Gretsch Jim Dandy Guitar, which is part of Gretsch's Roots Collection. I love that little guitar for authentic tone on Acoustic Blues music, which I am studying. The price of the instrument is very reasonable and this pickup goes beautifully with it. (Heads up, Amazon. At the start of August, Gretsch made a combination of a very similar parlor guitar with the same 24" scale plus this same pickup bundled together and called the "Gretsch Gin Rickey". The price is the same as that of the pickup plus that of the Jim Dandy guitar. If Amazon offers that bundled product, that instrument will have the pickup installed with the output jack in the end pin position without the purchaser paying a luthier to install it. That's what I will soon do. I'm good with tools but would rather pay to have a real tech install it in my beloved "JD".)I did a temporary installation with the jack outside of the guitar. I tried it on my Blackstar Fly 3 and my Yamaha THR5A amps on battery and with the power cords. It was WAY beyond my wildest dreams. That pickup is BEAUTIFUL! The sound is very retro with the "Tube" setting on the Yamaha acoustic amp. On clean settings it can be assertive and bell like. I'm in love with it, and it's what this great little parlor guitar deserves. You deserve it, too, so go buy one!
