They both draw 300 MA at 3.7 volts. That’s 1.11 Watts input. The beam does not have a focus control, but didn’t need it in my garage. But, if left on very long should have a heatsink to be safe. Also, a great value for a green laser! NOTE: green shows up better in daylight.

I had to replace the first shipment because neither of them worked. The second shipment worked fine. Even in a purpose build heat sink, these suckers get hot! hot enough to melt the hot glue used to hold the laser diode board in the metal case. I epoxied mine in place and have had no issues since.very powerful laser. not a toy. These WILL blind you if you are not careful.

Works well. Can drive it with 3 V (2 AA batteries) and no current limiting resistor required. Just attach batteries and be careful since it is bright! Had adjustable focus element on the front.

These work and are bright and mode stable compared to the red ones.

The leads are thin and seem like they'd fall off. Turned on the power supply to 3.3 v dc, set current limit to 500 ma. Connected the leads. A seriously bright dot appeared on my wall. This is not a toy. With 3.7 v dc mine drew about 335 ma.Do not shine this where a reflection will cross someones eyesight. When mounting this, secure the brass shell to a heatsink and don't stress the leads at all. Side by side with my 1 watt red laser this is as bright against a white target 20 feet away.Don't use this as a cat toy. Wear laser safety glasses. Worth the money.

Got it, hooked it up to the variable supply, set a reasonable voltage and current limit, and got unstable operation. Set a less reasonable current limit and the thing took off. It's like a weird "missing link" of hobby lasers: too powerful to be a laser pointer, aiming aid, etc. but not powerful enough to be a cutting laser. It's way too powerful for what I wanted to use it for, an aiming aid for a beam-break high speed photography rig, but it's loads of fun just playing it on my cut crystal collection. It's not really controllable: it goes from zero to full power in a short range of voltage variation, and it's nonlinear in that range. It makes a power supply oscillate when set to constant current mode. So I'm sticking with small red emitters for my sensor aiming device. Maybe a light show? Christmas?I am saving this for a different project.

Small diameter made it easy to 3D print the mounting stand. This laser and 2 other colors are mounted so they bounce off of 2, 3 or 4 PWM controlled, reversible motor/mirror assemblies to create a projected spirograph.
