Functionality is so limited they are useless. You cant even toggle a light on and off.Updated: It is possible to toggle lights with "Alternate Mode". But functionality is still pretty limited otherwise. upping to 3 stars

This is the smart button I’ve been searching for! I’m using it in rooms that don’t have enough wall outlets controlled by the wired light switch. It’s the most affordable smart button I’ve found, and I was easily able to incorporate it into my existing smart setup. The button works very reliably, and the battery lasts a few months.Note that the button requires the presence of other Govee smart products - I needed to set up four Govee smart plugs before the button would work. Govee’s smart plugs are also a great product!I’m not sure if non-Govee smart plugs can be registered in the Govee Home app. My solution for controlling non-Govee smart plugs with this smart button was to use the IFTTT app:- In Govee Home app: When this button is pressed, it turns on/off (“Alternate Mode”) one or more Govee smart plugs.- In IFTTT app: When a Govee smart plug is turned on, then turn on one or more other smart plugs; when a Govee smart plug is turned off, then turn off one or more other smart plugs.

I purchased the GoveeLife Wireless Mini Smart Button to enhance my smart home setup and integrated them with my home assistant via Bluetooth. Setup was straightforward, and the buttons are compact and stylish, fitting well into a minimalist aesthetic. However, one of the buttons in my initial purchase was defective. It drained the battery within 24 hours, even after replacing it with a fresh one. This was disappointing, as I had to go through the hassle of returning the product.Thankfully, the replacement set worked perfectly. The buttons respond quickly, and their integration with my system has been seamless since then. I appreciate the functionality and convenience they add to my smart home, but the defective unit was a frustrating setback.Overall, it's a good product, but quality control seems hit or miss. If you’re willing to deal with a potential return, it’s worth considering for its compact design and smart home compatibility.

My wife doesn’t like using the app to turn the lights on and off and always asks me to do it. I got these to put one on her nightstand that way she could turn them on and off by just pressing the button and they fix this problem perfectly. If I had more Govee lights and didn’t have them set up on a light switch I would have some of these throughout my house!

We received and I started to set up only to find out i needed a hub, another gizmo to connect them to so I could connect to my phone. Not easy to figure out, in fact I never did figure out. Just ate the cost, i had used some Zircon detectors, work great and don’t need a hub. Much better

I have LOTS of TPLink Wifi plugs of all types. I have started to also adopt these Govee brand plugs as I have had great experience with their Strip LED Lights and Smart Moisture Detectors.Their plugs do not disappoint! It also is detectable by Alexa and can be controlled by voice. This button is then also used as an alternative to voice. Basically pushing the button relays a voice command to the Govee brand plug. It comes with a 3M sticker to mount the plug and has a replaceable 2032 button cell.NOTE: Your Govee Smart Plug is your gateway! So you have to add your Govee Smart Plug first to the Govee Home App. Then after that you add this Govee Smart Button to the App.1. Open the back of the Button cover, should pop right off starting at the tab. Pull out the blue plastic battery preserver.2. Open your Govee Home App and click the top right + button > bluetooth button. Then hold the Smart Button for 3 secs or so and it should start blinking Red.3. The device should now show up in your Bluetooth Device Nearby. Select the device and follow the app steps to Name it and test the device.4. Connect it to a compatible gateway or their compatible Govee devices like the plug.5. Click the plug and create an Auto Run RULE:If: Click + > "Name of Button" > Button Pressed > (Check on top Right)Then: Instant Execute> Select the Smart Plug you want to control> On or Off > (Check on top Right)Alternate Mode: Turn On (Blue)Note: This will basically alternate between On and Off for the plug each time you press it. So it does not matter what you select in Instant Execute if you are using this ONE button version. *You can opt for the two button version and bind one button to On and the other button to OFF.6. Make sure you Select YELLOW Check top right to Confirm Changes and Saves.7. Test your button! Enjoy. It does have a second delay from pressing to plug actually switching, it is normal latency for smart devices in general.Warning: Using Alexa may throw off your on/off alternating function. The button will always alternate between ON then Next press will be OFF. It does not know when the actual plug is on or off. So using button to turn On your plug then Alexa voice to turn off the plug. The next time the button is pressed, it will alternate to OFF command. So you would just have to click again for On function.Hopes this helps some one that is having trouble on configuring this. These are very useful as Alexa can be slow sometimes and have hard of hearing! Or very useful for those less tech savy family members that would prefer a physical button than talking to an AI.

Not sure what all of these other reviewers are complaining about? It took me 30 seconds to connect the button to the app and another 30 seconds to select 6 devices (2 LED strips, 2 smart bulbs, and 2 plugs), all set up with this button; it worked the first time and every time after that with no issues.Tips and Tricks:Open the back of the button and remove the plastic piece, preventing the battery from making contact in shipping. The “If” section is for “when the button is pressed.”The “Then” section is what devices you want to control with the push of the button and what you want that device to do when the button is clicked. The “Delayed” section is if you want to set up timing delays for the “Then” section items. The “Alternate Mode” is if you want the button to do the opposite of what it did on the first press for the second press. For example, the first press will turn the lights on, and the next press will turn them off.Once again, I had no idea what the struggle was for everyone else.
