I have been waiting to add Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site to our Scholastic dvd collection and it has lived up to our expectations! The story tells of a day at a construction site from sunrise to sundown and it is enhanced in this dvd with music and closeups of scenes from the story to support comprehension. Many of the scholastic dvds are perfect for nighttime and winding down, and I recommend this along with Goodnight Gorilla, Goodnight Moon, How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight, I Stink and I'm Dirty. I do want to add that ONLY Goodnight Construction Site and I'm Fast are new to dvd. That Book Woman I already own on the dvd The North Star and Officer Buckle and Gloria is on the Harry the Dirty Dog dvds. I used to feel a little cheated that Scholastic would put out a new dvd and include at least half the dvd content as previously released stories, but after learning how expensive it is for Weston Woods to produce ONE movie and release it for upwards of $40 dollars I feel it is a bargain to pay about 15 dollars for one dvd that includes other stories too. I have been a fan of scholastic dvds for years and credit the read along option and the way the movies are produced with grabbing my sons' attention and thereby aiding their ability to recognize words and read. Check out the Weston Woods website for other titles not on scholastic and also newkideo for more scholastic releases.
