Over 20 years ago I built a pair of speakers pictured here in this review and replicated a design from a speaker manufacturer that is based out of Long Island that built inexpensive pro-audio speakers. The only difference between my build and the build of the professional made speakers are the components I used such as the woofer, tweeters and the midrange horn. PLUS, the difference in the wood used for the cabinet, the internal wiring, and the crossover are of superior quality. Needless to say, that my speakers performed WAY better and held up to the test of time.Recently I was watching a movie with my significant and have these speakers integrated into my home theatre setup. Without warning a power surge hit my home and caused a massive spike in sound that was pushed out by my processor and amps causing ALL of the tweeters in my home-built speakers plus one of the 2 woofers to burn out. I decided to replace the tweeters with this particular model that is based off the Motorola model and specs, whereas these tweeters were a bit cheaper in price than the Motorola brand. I installed these tweeters and replaced the blown woofer and WOW the sound is a bit cleaner, crisper and precise as far as the highs are concerned. The cymbals of the drum track I played sizzled, the snare drum had that snap that I love. The kick drum has that tight deep chest thump produced by the replaced woofer and the windchimes twinkled as if I was listening to them live in my livingroom. NOW, are these tweeters have the quality of what a ribbon tweeter can produce? Or better quality than some of the HIGH-END AUDIOPHILE brand tweeters??? No. But for the money and for what I use these speakers for, they are a HELL of a lot better than most of the garbage that is sold and advertised as top-quality speakers found at your big box retail electronics store.I am using a Crown Amp that pushes 300 watts of undistorted power at 8 ohms into these home-made speakers. I have the tweeters crossed over at 2.7khz and above. With that being said, they are performing extremely well and I now have my speakers sounding great like before. Maybe even sounding better.

Bought 2 tweeters 1 came with the housing cracked. Wired them in parallel to create 4ohms then to a 4ohm 3 way crossover. They function despite one being cracked.

I bought these to use for use in a home-built rodent repeller, rather than the high fidelity applications in most other reviews. I was able to get a measured 100 dB of 20 KHz sound at one foot from the speaker with an input power of about 0.34 watts to the speaker when active. (The tone burst lasts one-half second, repeated each minute. The overall average power draw was only about 3 milliamps at 6-12V input to the 5V regulator making it nice for battery operation. The circuit uses a full-bridge drive to achieve a 10V peak-to-peak drive voltage through 22 series Ohms to the speaker.)The excellent power efficiency and low cost made it perfect for this application.

these tweeters are the best you can get. a lot of people are the people who look for the loudest not necessarily the best. when looking at tweeters and listening to them and look for things like the decay of bells you should be able to hear the strike and then the decay or listening to cymbals hi hats should sound tight and crisp and these tweeters achieve that and beyond. proper equalization is the key to the best sound and as I said before a lot of people don't do that. I would definitely recommend these tweeters to average consumers and audio enthusiasts. just make sure you don't turn it up loud the first few hours you have them, if you want the best sound out of any speaker, do a burn in period in between 1 to 5 hours of average listening(about 25 percent volume). other than that the shipping was nice and the packaging was great. also just to keep in mind that using a capacitor or resistor is not the way to go with a speaker either, im using a 3 way crossover because those provide the best sound.
