This adjustable plug lets you control the steam released from the cooker. This can have two effects: controlling the pressure inside the pot, and controlling the loss of moisture from the pot. No, it's not going to turn the PossibleCooker into a pressure cooker! But I have noticed a difference with the plug in and closed all the way.It can also eliminate that blast of steam when you remove the lid. Point the vent to the front, stand to the side, twist the top with your hand from behind. It will release the steam outward, instead of upward where it can damage the bottom of your cupboards over time.This is a clever little device. Kudos to the inventor!

This little steam valve works great. It is very well made and will last for a very long time. If you need to close off the hole in your foodie lid this works perfect. Also I love that you get two for the price. Very highly recommend.

I was not satisfied with this item at all. I didn't like having to purchase TWO of them when I only need ONE. It doesn't really stay in place! Constantly fooling with it. Definitely felt it wasn't worth the money. I did return them for a refund.
