Your cart is empty.For use with the No-Marking Method to create tear away stencils. Golden Threads Quilting Paper tears away cleanly and easily without pulling out your stitches. Can also be used for: paper piecing, trapunto, applique, machine embroidery, sketching and tracing, duplicating, adjusting and designing patterns, bobbin work and home-dec sewing. Directions: Trace quilting pattern onto Golden Threads Quilting Paper using a wash-away marking pen. Layer up to 15 pieces of paper with traced copy on top and pin corners to secure. Stitch needle punch without thread through the stack with a large unthreaded needle. Pin paper patterns to project with bumpy side up and quilt following the design. To remove paper after quilting, genty tug fabric on the bias. Paper will break away from stitching, making it easy to tear away. Marking option: Rub the pattern onto the fabric with a chalk-filled Pounce Pad for quick and easy marking. Position needle punched stencils onto project and gently rub Pounce Pad over holes. Chalk design will transfer to fabric.

I create patterns that I want to add to quilts, trace them onto Golden Threads paper, sew through them, then tear the paper away. There's no chance of leaving residue from a marking pen or pencil.

Just perfect for sketches and tracings, works great used with a lightbox, too because it’s thinness is easier for light to come thru. Perfect for quilting by drawing on this with a fabric marker, pinning to your fabric, then stitching right on top because it tears away leaving no paper residue (and short stitch length will even tear it away as you stitch). You must use a true quilt marking marker on this paper if planning to stitch thru this because the needle will transfer anything else onto the fabric. I did a test using a colored pencil on this paper, pinned it to my fabric, stitched along the lines and noticed the stitch lines contained colored pencil in the stitching and thread!! And that will not wash out.I have even used this to draw large designs, cut those out and pinned to my quilt top, then traced around them and then removed the paper and quilted.Terrific product! Love all the sizes.
