If the (viewable) opening is the right size for your certificate or artwork (what I'm using it for), then look no further! This can stand vertically or horizontally. Strong kickstand backing. If you prefer to hang, adding a picture hanger easy as this is a real wood frame. Can hammer in the nails easily but will also be very safe. The kickstand back is inset so frame itself would be flush to wall if you chose to convert to hang on wall. The coating on wood is very nice, somewhat satin finish. Quality. Seams are flawless. I am so pleased. I framed a special item of art and this sits on a bookshelf now. Fyi, matting may shift on you when you insert your item/certificate, but is easy to shift into place so it sits evenly within frame.

Just bought this product for my business license which I am still waiting for. It is a half-inch all the way around too big, but the card it comes with has a decoration around it I can use to form the border for my business license. I can hang it where I need to at any place, the fasteners are firm and hold well, the glass is thick and solid, the frame is well built and will work for my business license or for photos of a panorama-like nature or other appropriate displays that will fit in the 4 x- 9 inch size. Happy with the purchase and the cost was right.

Bought two of these for signed CD booklets (opened), went with these in particular for the 5x10 size and they were exactly what I needed, as I wanted them to be as close as possible in size to other frames I have. Taking the frame width into consideration as well, which happened to be the main factor for me.Very well made frames and the easel backing does not conflict when hanging (with picture strips) on the wall at all, and yes you can hang them- I saw reviews saying otherwise, but rest assured you can!
