I'm not thrilled with the quality. I am returning it. It came folded, dry, with a pinhole, and starting to crack.

I replaced a bodhrán skin with this, seems to do the job well enough.

Nice clean skin with no scars or blemishes. It could have been a little thicker for bodhran.

Skin was nice to work with. Made a traditional hand drum . I would use goat skin again

I have built many hand drums over the years. When I ordered this skin I wondered if it would be quality or poorly done. This skin was pristine. No holes, no lumps. It has the perfect texture for a drum head, perfect thickness-- and at twenty bucks an acceptable price (skins on Amazon and Etsy tend to be a bit pricey... understandable since leather is not easy to process). This skin is uniformly thick-- or more accurately thin. It soaked and stretched well and the bodhran I made from it turned out beautifully. As a note: be sure to always soak a skin in cold water and not hot; hot water can alter the leather. This may require soaking it 2-4 hours rather than 15 minutes, but you'll wind up with a nicer and more uniform skin.

well packaged and exactly as described. This is a little bit of a thinner goat skin than I am accustomed to for a djembe (prepared more for a Boron I believe). As such, the 'soak' time for it to soften was much quicker than I expected - only maybe 5-10 minutes in the bathtub in warm water - whereas my old goatskin (also shaved, but only on the top surface) took at least 20 minutes to soften enough to be pliable for removal from the ring. Extremely easy to work with.

Product arrived quickly, well packaged and exactly as described. This is a little bit of a thinner goat skin than I am accustomed to for a djembe (prepared more for a Boron I believe). Extremely easy to work with. Fully shaved/clean on both sides, and fairly even across the head surface with decent mostly light markings. However there is a small 'transluscent' patch on the playing surface, less than a squared cm, that may be prone to split...I will give 5 stars now for the ease of working with it, and for the thorough preparation of it (it is very nicely cut in a perfect circle) and will update this review if it splits. This 20" diameter goat skin left me 3" on all sides of my 14" djembe head to work with. It would be tight for a 16" diameter djembe head, but still should work, depending on how far your want your rings dropped from the playing surface.

No tuve claras las especificaciones del producto y pensé que estaba comprando el tambor, no solamente la piel.Fue una equivocación de mi parte al hacer el pedido sin embargo el proceso de devolución fue gratuito y sin problema.
