After wiring up my stratocaster with what I assumed was "top of the line" components, it worked perfectly for about 3 days until something somewhere failed. I have checked over my wiring a dozen times, even tried to hunt down the bad component to no avail. I decided i'd just start completely over and save myself the headache of tracking down the bad part, so I bought genuine fender components to replace all of these, as well as cloth wire, shielding tape, and a NEW PICKGUARD and still came out under what I paid for this junk. Very disappointed and can honestly say I will not be buying anything else from golden age in the future.

This kit WORKS👍👍 thanks stew Mac. What this kit has done to a cheap not so good sounding guitar is amazing. Just keep your work tidy and it will fit. Made this ol ax come alive. I’ve done guitar work and have played pro for close to 50 years so take my word! Need a upgrade ? This is it .!!

Bought this kit to upgrade the components in my used 05' Squire Strat because it just sounded "dull". Also I didn't like the cheap Alpha pots which were 500K-ohm strangely and it had a cheap cap. The difference is night and day!! Would recommend this upgrade to anyone that owns a Squire Strat since they come with "cheaper" components. I can only imagine what it would sound like if/when I upgrade the pups!!Had enough wiring to do everything. If you plan on doing this yourself and are not experienced, just do your homework and look at other examples. The diagram does say though where to connect everything and tells you which wire to use where. On my Squire though, I did have to slightly ream out the pot holes on the pickguard and lengthen the switch slot because it seemed to have 1-2/32" extra throw. I also purchased Fender control knobs because the original Squire ones didn't fit.I did do a mod on mine where the bridge pickup is shared with the neck pickup tone pot so I can control it from there because before it never had a tone pot.
