I have had a half dozen hand sanders of different kinds over the years and these are the best by far. The kind with the rotating clamps just don't hold the paper, and the ones with the little wing nuts get caught on everything and can be down right painful. These Goldblatt sanders have knobs with springs that raise the clamp for changing the paper, no more struggling to get the paper under the clamp. I like them so much I bought two and threw out two perfectly good old ones.

Haven’t used it, but appears well made and useful. I have collected and used many Golblatt tools over the years and always find them useful and dependable…the reason I got this sanding block.

Was doing some drywall work on a recent home modification and had purchased the current model of 3M drywall sanding plane/block from my local home improvement store (Paid about $23 for it) and it was...disappointing. The 3M unit is almost exclusively made of plastic, not comfortable and the plastic tabs to retain the sanding sheets kept popping off.So I bought this. It was cheaper (~$18 when I bought it), the handle is larger and has comfortable rubber molded grip, but most importantly, the clamps for the sanding sheets are METAL and screw to tighten. I had no more issues getting my work done with this sanding block and would buy another in a heartbeat.This is one instance where I would recommend NOT buying the 'name brand' and buy this instead!

I purchased two cheapo-depot plastic versions of this. Don't waste your money. This is what I had years ago and they work perfectly. They hold the paper securely, so it isn't slipping out of the clamps constantly. I am very pleased with this and would highly recommend it.

Good sander, I like the aluminum base. Paper clamp screws are easier to work with than the usual small wing nuts on most others, but in retrospect I prefer the lever-clamp style.
