Your cart is empty.With standard E-E tuning this guitar just stayed in the dryer a bit too long. This guitar is built using a larger “Artist” or F-Style Mandola type body to increase the resonant air chamber providing more volume, better low-end response, and adds just the right amount of timber in its voicing. Compared to our previous manditar models, the newer F-6 and F-12 uses an extended 15” scale allowing for more hand room. Barre chords are even possible near the nut. The Zero Glide nut is very effective at maintaining tuning stability and allows for the lowest possible action alleviating the string tension which is common with short scale instruments. The fretboard is radiused for comfort and the ebony bridge contains a built-in pickup for easy plugged-in playing. Bottom line is this guitar is another voicing to add to your recording studio, band, solo gig, or just to jam with. If you’re looking to achieve a mandolin sound without learning to play the mandolin this does the trick (although, we think you should learn mandolin too)! With the shorter scale length, it lends itself to opening tuning so you can focus more on single or harmonic notes while strumming. Whether you’re looking to add color to songs that you have been playing for years or looking for new sounds, this will definitely spark your imagination. Comes with a soft case!

When you play it the finish turns chalky. For a flatpicker the neck is just to small you have to change your finger movements. Way over p riced

I purchased this from my go to small business for most of my instrument purchases. This F-6 "mandotar" is a beautifullooking, and acoustically great sounding instrument. I have not tried recording direct yet, but the day WILL come.Gold Tone's customer service is top notch. I had a situation where the input/strap button became loose (with this type of input, it can be a little tricky to tighten), btw- it was caused from me not realizing the straps button hole was too tight on the button- playing the F-6 so much, taking it off and on, caused this. I emailed G.T. on a Sunday late afternoon. THEY REPLIED 90 MINUTES LATER. I called them the next day and they guided me to ensure a remedy.I'm starting to buy some different instruments to widen my horizon. I feel a Gold Tone banjo is next. The F6 is a pro level instrument. I have no doubt my next Golf Tone instrument will be at the same level.

It plays well,and sounds good.It is,however, a small instrument so a guitar plays slightly easier.

Manditar looks nicely made, but broken high E string on arrival was disappointing. Please send a replacement set of correct strings

I love this little manditar. Pros: It’s fun to play and creates a nice acoustic texture when playing with other instruments. You get a bright mando sound with a larger neck, and without having to learn to play a new instrument. It looks beautiful. Cons: Since the pickup is passive you really need to run it through a DI that can control volume and tone. I use the LR Baggs para DI and it works great. The major drawback is that it has slight intonation problems. I’ve already had it set up once. My tuner tells me it’s in tune but as I play it, especially moving up the neck it’s sharp. It’s not too noticeable when played by itself, but against other instruments it’s just a little off. I’m going to try having it worked on again to see if it fixes the problem. Don’t know if it’s just mine or if it’s a problem with all of em.
