Jeweler here. This is the second time getting this product after sending a replacement. Same issue. The acid has lost any reactivity providing inaccurate/non-existent test results. Not sure if the product is really old stock or was improperly stored, but will not be purchasing from this seller again.Second photo is at my workplace, showing how the acid should look on the stone after reacting to the metal.

Very good testers they definately give you a percise result and the stones to scratch the gold are very nice dont slip cause the rubber bottom and cleans up well with the nuteralizer i would definitely recommend buying this product.

I like the the Jewelry Tester kit with all the different test for Gold, Silver, Platinum. I am selling my mom's old jewelry and using this kit to tell what karat he gold is and now can test other stuff with the silver & platinum. Happy that it comes with two large stones for testing.

If you have never bought one of these before and you sell sterling silver jewelry gold jewelry and even costume jewelry this is a must! Quality items, good shipping and packaging no damage, they arrived safely and quickly. Its often hard to receive these kind of acids in the mail so if your hesitating i would suggest buying it here on Amazon as its a great price! ($65 cdn) free shipping for amazon prime and you dont have to be afraid of customs not allowing your item to come through the border. Be careful with the acids when testing your metals. They dont leak either after having them and using them and they were not stale either they were all brand new acids. Great seller! wonderful item!

This is my first experience with acid testing kits and it seems accurate. I purchased a ring from etsy sold as 14k solid gold but I was convinced it was not solid gold (working theory it was plated). This kit showed it wasn’t even 10k. Already got my money back before the kit, but the kit was good reaffirmation for me. I still don’t know what kinda jank material the ring is.I tested it with my other jewelry that I knew for a fact to be their designated gold karat and it was accurate for all those as well.Easy to use and clean. If the neutralizer doesn’t work for you or runs out, easy tip, clean with baking soda and water and the stone will be neutralized.

I ordered this kit to test my collection of scrap gold and silver jewelry. The item arrived next day and I was pleasantly surprised most of my items matched the original stamps/makers marks. Easy to use, my only complaint is the colour can be difficult to recognize at times on the black background of the emery board. A bright lamp helps tremendously with this. Overall good value for the money.
