So, like most people, I read 300w and decide to make the purchase thinking that should hold up to cobra pipes on my bike. I read other reviews and I do have a windscreen so thought these would be ok. Man was I wrong.I have an extensive background in 12v electronics and car audio. We all know most vendors rate their products at peak output, in this case 300w. Under normal circumstances, that is usually double the actual RMS output. Ok, so if that’s the case, these should be 150w or 2x75w. I’m still ok with that as I know what that can sound like. And it’s not these. I opened the package and first thing I see is a 5a fuse on the power line. Now, being in the 12v field, an optimal voltage for any 12v vehicle or electronics is 14.4v. Our bikes aren’t going to be that high in most cases. Mostly around 13v. Doesn’t sound like a big deal till we learn how wattage works. So let’s for ease sake, say the bike is running at 14v (being quite gracious). To get wattage, we take amperage and voltage and multiply them. So Volts x Amps = Watts. Let’s plug in some numbers. 14v x 5a (or fuse would blow if more than 5a) gives us 70w. That’s for the pair. Which is 35w per speaker. Far cry from 300w (or even 150x2) that’s advertised. With the wire used and capabilities of the fuse and bolts produced by the bikes, there’s no way they could ever see 300w. It would take 21 amps of current to produce that wattage, if not more for lower rated bikes. That means the power wire would need to be AT MINIMUM 14g, and not the 18-20g supplied in the kit.So I look back at the details and finally see where they say the speakers are rated for 2x15w rms. How they got 300w from that is behind me. That’s inflating the capabilities by 10x!Long story short, they sound like 15w speakers. Anything over half volume is muddy and distorted, and over 3/4 volume is crackling and popping.I hooked these up to an ac/dc converter and even ran the output at 14.5v and on the power draw side, saw a maximum of 13w. On the kill-a-watt meter, plugged in with no output, the entire system pulled 4.4w, that’s basically just powering the converter. Now add the speakers at 90% volume and most wattage pulled was 17.2. But we have to deduct the power of the converter as well so we’re left with 12.8w.12.8w of output from 300w speakers. I’m not returning them as it’s my fault for not seeing this, but I cannot recommend them to anyone else. Unless you know what you’re paying for. Shame on this company. We all know audio equipment gets exaggerated but not to the run of over 10x! Usually it’s just doubled.Do with that information what you will!

Best gohawk speakers I’ve seen so far. Of course they’re going to be hard going 70 with the wind blowing but cruising 55 or lower you’ll hear them just fine! Loud! Clear! And look amazing. Not plastic junk like on eBay.

The USB stops reading music a minute or 2 after starting the bike and switches to Bluetooth. This is the 2nd unit I have bought that does this.Change my review to 5 stars , contacted Gohawk and they helped me trouble shoot the system and ended up sending me a new main speaker, it works fine now.

The speakers was good quality easy to install and program. It's loud en3 to be heard up to 55 to 60 mph then u lose it in the wind.Only negative it's hard to get them to fit tight enough on handle bars they keep slipping. Rode a 200 mile trip had to keep adjusting them.

Wish they were a little louder, and had its own volume control for just the speaker not just control volume on the device that it’s paired to. The main speaker came dented, but still worked. I contacted seller and they were quick to respond offering replacement or refund. We had already installed and with it being the main one we just opted for a partial refund.

Good looking solid speakers and good wiring, easy to install and the remote works well - but the speakers sound terrible. They aren’t loud enough, have a hissing sound, and no bass. For the size of the speaker and enclosure you’d think they would be loud and have bass but the quality of the actual speaker and voice coil is garbage. If you have a bike with loud pipes or do lots of freeway riding don’t buy these. If you just do around town riding and have stock pipes these might work fine for you. The Bluetooth functionality works great and there are cables for auxiliary and usb connection. I just wish they sounded better, my UE-Boom speaker sounds 1 million times better than these

I have tried several different brands over a few years and this has been the best one to date. This gives you simple sound for under $100 with easy set up and easy use. If you expect high end quality sound buy a custom system and spend $1000+. If you want simple acceptable sound on a budget, this is the way to go.What's GOOD:The clamps go on easy and look much better than most on the market right now.The wire remote. It has a small clamp to hold it in a convenient place on handlebars and provides basic functions you would expect. The speakers. They sound good. I mean let's be real you are out doors on a motorcycle with engine noise, pipes, traffic, and wind. There is a lot more input coming into your brain then just the sound from speakers. The Amp. It is inside speaker so there is no need to do anything. It gives enough power that I can hear at 70mph on freeway with a windshield. Again every setup is a little different. I also wear a half helmet.Setup. I put phone into search and speakers into search and it paired in seconds and has never lost it even when battery was taken out of bike to be charged. The BADThe Hook up/wiring. This comes with a plug that will plug in right where a battery tender or similar will go so you may already have a place to plug right into and if not it includes the end to attach to battery. If you have the piece already there to plug into DON"T USE IT!!! This will drain battery even when you turn it off. About 5 days of not riding and my bike wouldn't start and had to be on trickle charger overnight. Play it smart and wire into a switched power source or wire in a separate switch or unplug the harness when you're done riding for the day.The AMP. I know I said AMP was good and for me it is, for other set ups it may not be quite powerful enough. I am hoping they will make one that is 500w-600w without increasing the speaker enclosure size.Overall I love the unit and if it had just a tad more power and didn't fool me with false sense of security of directly wiring to the battery I would give 5 stars.
