I absolutely love this little speedlite. Godox pulled out all the stops for the build, design and features of this strobe. My #1 favorite feature of this speedlite is that Godox gave us a touchscreen. The screen is very easy to use and quick to navigate. The screen quality is amazing when compared to the older models. The size of this speedlite is my second favorite thing about this light. I typically like my round head speedlites but the smaller, lighter, compact design of this light makes it more ideal for on camera lighting at events. It is easy to maneuver around with and light enough to pack around on a 3+ hr event. This light comes with a rechargeable battery that offers a lot of full power flashes in which i hardly ever shoot at, so i get enough flashes from a full charge to cover an entire event. You can also get additional batteries to swap out if you plan to shoot in conditions that would exhaust a single battery.TTL works amazing on this light as well. I only use TTL for run and gun scenarios but it is very good. You do have the option to use it in manual mode which is my preference. I was also surprised to see that they gave this light the ability to function as a transmitter and control your other Godox lights. With this feature, i can use the V480 as a fill light and trigger my main lights with it.This light has found a permanent home in my camera bag.

What an incredible bang for the buck this flash is in what it offers, and just how it performs. Not only does it work as a capable flash that reminds me in feel, look, and even sounds like the Canon 430exII, but it also can be work as a master for the Godox flash system (up to channel E, so it's not a 100% replacement for something like the X3).The size is medium small. If you are used to using flagship style flashes such as the Canon 600ex II, Canon El-1, or even the Godox V1/V100's then you will be pleasantly surprised how much smaller this is. This flash is 1/2 to 2/3rds the power of those flashes, but that could just be the difference of shooting iso 800 or 1250 instead of a little lower for event shooting, which is more than fine with current cameras. The interface is intuitive and easy to use, though there could be some future upgrades. There's menus you can access from the main screen if you swipe either down or right, but if you are using the flash for the first time there isn't any sort of visual clue on the screen you can do that. In a future update it would be nice to see an update that fixes that visual cue. The screen is bright and looks good in daylight also.Unlike the above mentioned 430ex II, the Godox using a battery pack and it's awesome. Recycle is fast, and I was able to use this at a wedding event on TTL and get some pretty solid response time and the battery barely even went down a quarter. It does take over a second to recycle at full power when you pop it more, but for the basic bounce and grip and grin shooting I was doing this flash was able to consistently hit it's mark. The modelling light is bright. It's videolight'esque and can be used for video work in a pinch, though it's just a single led and the light is pretty harsh and modifying requires a little macguyvering. The only critique I have is the material for both the whole flash and the battery door feels a little hollow and thin. When you do the tap and feel test, you can tell it could probably use some better material. The door itself is used to hold the battery in, and if something happens to the door than the flash probably won't work anymore. The door is just full plastic and could use some metal reinforcement. The price they are charging for what you get makes this an incredible value as a product. The only critiques I have are easily fixes a version 2 might have, or a firmware update. For what you get for the price though, this could be a lot of peoples main flashes even if they have higher end flagship flashes. At half the price of Canon's current middle of the line El-5, I have to give it to Godox for releasing something so capable at a reasonable price.
