Goatskin Drum Head. Origin Country: Pakistan. 0.5 lbs. Made by Mid-East.

Flat round piece of goatskin without hair. Thickness: Thick- approximately 0.02 of an inch. This equates to the approximate thickness of 5-6 sheets of printer paper.

All skins sold "AS IS". We do our best to eliminate skins that have possible defects; however, our prices are based on an "as is" basis. This means, on average, you can expect to lose one out of ten skins. Obviously the tightness during installation will alter this ratio, so figure this loss in your cost.

I used this for a new tambourine head-- mine got broken while travelling, and I had no head on it for many years. I'm so pleased it's fixed again! The process of soaking, stretching, gluing down and drying only took a day, and it tightened up properly as it dried. My only quibble is that there's one sort of dark patch that didn't really clean up well. But I'm thinking maybe that's just a natural variation in the material, and not anyone's fault. Maybe I'll paint it or something later.

Worked great and happy with sound quality too. This was my first rebuild of a drum. I hope to do more and will buy again

I bought what they call "thick" skin; it's so thin it's transparent! What an insult! Quality lack of control for sure. This wouldn't even withstand the build, much less any sort of tuning.

Put it on my macho bongo, not the thickness I was expecting I would have gone with something a little more thicker than what I got...my first time trying out these goat skins I will see what results I get...

I would not recommend this product. This would not be a very wise choice if using for a drum head. Product is extremely thin it would not hold up to the abuse of regular use of a drum. This would be a wonderful piece for a drum head, if it's being used as wall decoration.Don't waste your money on this. Go online to a reputable fur and hide Trader.

Didn’t work the way it supposed to. I tried to make a drum for my son’s school project and was not good

I thought 2 inches was enough extra to fit my 10" drum opening. But I forgot about the outer rings and the fact it will need that extra width to stretch down from the rim! So the edges kept slipping from between the rings as I strung and tightened the rope. Even using thread to hold the edges tighter around the ring didn't quite work as I ran out of edge! The next skin will be thin and 16". And I got a new rope because the original cheap stuff started fraying and wasn't long enough to string all the way around the first time. Hard to evenly stretch the skin when 15% of the ring doesn't have rope!.30-day in: I’ve tightened the skin at least weekly and it’s still stretches more. I hope it stabilizes sooner rather than later.5-months in: I got a medium thickness for a 2nd drum. That one sounds great. The first thin skin one rings too much on tones and slaps, and the base is disproportionately loud. So future ones will be the thicker skins.

I am pleased with the performance of this skin.
