After 23 years, factory shift cable took a crap... this one is supposed to be an OEM GM part, shipped in a generic box...looked about the same as an OEM one bought from auto parts store (in the GM box)

Amazon said this cable would not fit my 2005 GMC Sierra pickup extended cab 6-ft bed 2x4. I found this red tag on the old cable the number matches the new cable.

Amazon said this would NOT fit my truck . I researched the part #'s and this one came up. it fit my truck perfect. pretty easy install , the under the dash bracket can be a bugger but once figured out it's not too bad. - 2006 Silverado 1500 4.3L WT 2wd standard cab 8ft box

Why would you use anything less than OEM?

Never buy aftermarket. My brother bought several aftermarket shift cables and no matter how many times we have adjusted them, they never worked. I always stick to OEM products. My cost a little more but less headaches. This Acdelco shift cable works great.

The plastic clip where you adjust the cable broke. Luckily enough I was able to use my old one from the cable I just replaced.

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.8L V8, 2 WHEEL DRIVE. It had a broken shifter cable and I bought this part. It came in a new unopened AC Delco box and fit my truck perfectly. I had a friend who is an expert transmission mechanic install it, it took him only 20 minutes to install the bottom half of the cable (which was the part that was broken) under the truck. The shifter works great now.
