Cruise control works now that this was replaced. Cruise control used to turn off whenever there was a small bump on the road. Replacing this solved the problem.

If your cruise control stops working or your brake lights are always on, this is what you need to fix that. It usually means the switch is not disengaging all the way. Super easy to install. Buy the gm one if you have power adjustable peddles otherwise your abs will not work.

Bought this to replace my old switch on my 07 Avalanche, which was not disengaging fully (this affected my trailer brake controller in such a way that it wouldn't disengage without me slapping the brake pedal several times to force it to disengage). Also my cruise control wouldn't work because it thought my brake pedal was engaged . It took some twisting & discomfort on my old body, but after perhaps 45 minutes the new switch was in place and since then, all works perfectly. I would recommend.

Part matches up well, and was fairly easy to install. Recommend pay close attention to how retaining clip attaches, can be a bit tricky. Otherwise pretty straightforward.

Easy install and working as expected, I do a lot of stop and go driving ( Rush Hour) both to and from work which most of us do and dislike 👎Needless to say I wear out brakes and brake switches frequently 😔

Anything you have to work on upside down, in the dark and on your back, challenges. This is no exception and even adds a difficulty factor due to a retaining clip from hell-o. Not these guys fault, the part is spot on and repaired my flaky cruise control issue that has plagued me for months. It's a GM thing, if your reading this you know what I'm alluding to cause you've been there. If not you're about to, this clip is nearly as frustrating as trying to re-hang the covers after an HVAC blower change. Spoiler alert... pry the middle section out and push up towards the roof. Good buy.

I was extremely pleased with the brake switch and worked just as it should have in the first place. I own a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT and noticed when i tried turning the cruise control on it would not work. My brake lights worked but the cruise control did not work. I learned this by pushing the cruise control button on the left hand side of the steering wheel and then hitting the set button which is underneath the cruise control button. There should be a light on the gauge cluster when you hit "set" that looks like this: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/15/Cruise_Control.svg/2000px-Cruise_Control.svg.png . If that light comes up on the gauge cluster then your cruise control works if this light does not come on after hitting set then your cruise control is not working properly and it is likely that you have a faulty brake switch. For my application, when I hit set nothing would happen. I did some research and figured out this was likely the issue. For 13 dollars I realized it's worth a shot. Today I got the part which was in a small plastic ACDelco bag in a medium sized packaging envelope. Things you need are a ratcheting 10 mm wrench, a flash light, and a flathead screw driver. I followed this video and was able to get the job done https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHwWV98wBZU&list=FLlh_SarivhBqFnENckkrktA&index=3. The hardest part about this entire install was the retaining clip. As long as you stick with it you can get that clip off. After about 20 minutes of work I was able to complete the job and take the truck for a test drive. Beware: You do have to go over 25mph to use the cruise control. The cruise control finally worked and I had a huge grin on my face the whole way home! I highly recommend trying this if your cruise control does not work.
