About this item

  • GM CLIMBING UHMWPE Throw Line gives ultra-high strength in smallest size, lightest weight: 650lb in 1.7mm (1/16in), 1,000lb in 2.2mm (3/32in). It satisfies all your requirements for work.
  • Smooth to the touch, slick in sliding! UHMWPE(Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) fiber with fine braiding produces a very smooth surface to make it easy to slide over the tree. Throw line is able to resist intense abrasion and has a long wear life. Zero fuzzy, quick conduction of heat, and Friction highly minimized.
  • Durable! It is highly resistant to water, moisture, most chemicals, UV, and abrasion due to the high-tech material UHMWPE. All these give throw line the ability to withstand extreme conditions and exposures and much prolong its lifespan up to 2~3 times than the line of other fibers.
  • Lowest stretch! Low stretch leads to efficient performance in practice to save labor.
  • 12-Strand hollow braid cord. You can do splicing with the cord to MYOG more outdoor gears, whoopie slings, fishing assist cord, continuous loop, etc.

I have used this line probably 40 times in the last month to get bigger ropes/straps over limbs to attach winch lines. It has very rarely tangled on many branches that were in the way or on bad throws. It's super strong and has held up well to the abuse given.

Can’t believe the resistance and weight that this can hold. I use this on my hammock tarp lines and securing it to the ground. It also just stays with all my camping gear for any random thing that I need to tie off. Will be getting another roll when it runs out.

This rope is crazy strong. I’m using it for multiple things and it’s easy to use and ridiculous strong.

Line is tough. Doesn’t snap when pulling hard. I personally recommend a girth hitch for whatever ball you’re throwing.I just about to order three more spools. This is great stuff.Thank, you

When you're backpacking with a 70 lbs. backpack, every ounce saved adds up! This throw line is ultra-light, yet holds 650 lbs.! It is slippery enough to run through my carabiner without issue, yet is not so slippery I can't hold it, which was a problem with my other line. I know this will serve me well for stringing up my food bags, and I've saved over a pound in weight! Very impressive.

This 1.7mm dyneema cord is excellent for making a continuous ridge line and guy lines for tent, tarp, and hammock camping. I used this cord to create a continuous ridge line, six guy lines, and a hanging bear-bag system, all with prusik tensioners. The project used over 80 feet of cord, and the weight from the cord was only about two ounces. This is one of the simplest and best gear purchases I have made in years. I couldn't be happier with this product.

Bought this to use as a throw-line for Arborist tree access. Not the best of quality, line kinks and twists too easily. Chucked it out after the sixth bird nest tangle in a day.

Latest and last update:This stuff is absolutes garbage. One of the worst products I have purchased. Next to the dynaglide throw line the gm line is more than a waist of money, its a waste of time and energy. I highly suggest you spend the extra money for the dynaglide throw line or at least do not buy this gm throw junk. I threw mine away today.Update.Ive used this line for a month or so and it still twists and rolls on itself when flaking into my cube or on a tarp. Its too rigid. Its frustrating and takes too much effort and too much time to flake out correctly. I even let the entire line hang from a tree with 5lbs on it and it still twists. Spend the extra cash and get the dynaglide line. You wont be disapointed and you will save major frustration. Dropped from 2 stars down to 1.The line is nice and light and can be thrown a country mile if, and only if, you can keep it from twisting itself up. I used it all day and no matter how I tried to stretch it out it would roll on top of itself when flaking it into my throw cube. Same thing with a 5 gallon bucket. The best result I got was when i very carefully flaked it out onto a tarp. It took way longer than it should because it constantly twists and rolls and does not flatten out. Once I got it flaked onto the tarp correctly it worked fine but most of the time you are trying to keep it tangle free. After using it all day with a 16 ounce throw bag it should have lost the twist and become less rigid but it never did. I even tied one end to a tree and tried to stretch it straight and that didnt work. I threw it by hand and with my big shot launcher and still was unable to get the twist out.I figured for the price it would be a good replacement for my dynaglide line which is twice the price as this line. After using this line all day Im willing to pay 3 times the price for the dynaglide. My suggestion for anyone looking at this line is to spend the extra money and get the dynaglide. You will save major time and frustration. Lesson learned. You get what you pay for.

I use this arborist line to put temporary wire antennas into trees for use with ham radio. I purchased one spool and liked it so much, I picked up 3 more (for loop antennas requiring multiple support points). It's lightweight and slick, which means it's easy to toss out launch into trees, and doesn't catch easily on branches on the way down or while recovering. The bright color is useful when operating in public areas (safety), as well as for being able to better spot where the line is in a tree.I have used this line over a dozen times and have yet to have it get seriously suck or snagged. 100% line recovery, which is better than what I can say about using Paracord or similar. Highly recommended!
