About this item

  • THE NEXT GENERATION OF SURFACE PROTECTION - Glidecoat ALPHA is a pro-level ceramic coating infused with graphene to deliver next-level results with significant improvements in durability, hydrophobics, gloss and shine, when compared to competitive coatings.
  • MARINE-GRADE PROTECTION FOR ANY VEHICLE - Glidecoat has built its name in the marine industry by providing unmatched protection for your boat against the extremely harsh marine environment. ALPHA was designed with the marine industry in mind, but it is also our most versatile, providing marine-grade protection that can safely and easily be applied to your boat, car, RV, motorcycle, plane, or PWC.
  • EASY DIY-APPLICATION - The ALPHA formulation allows us to maintain a high-level of active ceramic ingredients while also being easy to apply.
  • OUR MOST VERSATILE COATING - ALPHA graphene ceramic coating can be safely and easily applied to your boat, car, RV, motorcycle, plane, or PWC. Apply to virtually any hard surface including, gel coat, single stage paint, clear coat, glass, bare metals, powder coated metals, rims, headlights, plexiglass, engine cowling and more! This versatility simplifies the coating process for users who want to protect multiple surfaces on their boat, or multiple vehicles with just one coating.
  • ENHANCED HARDNESS AND DURABILITY – With the infusion of graphene, ALPHA is engineered to cure harder for long-term protection. Independent testing has shown up to 2 years protection in marine applications and up to 5 years for automotive.
  • EXTREME HYDROPHOBICS – ALPHA has a water contact angle greater than 100° and a water shedding angle of 30°. The high contact angle makes the surface extremely hydrophobic, while the low shedding angle allows the water to effortlessly run off the surface, making the vehicle more resistant to stains, easier to maintain, and less prone to water spots.
  • IMPROVED GLOSS AND DEPTH OF COLOR – Glidecoat’s ALPHA Graphene Ceramic Coating increases the gloss of the surface by as much as 10% providing a mirror-like shine that enhances the depth of color for a better-than-new finish.
  • EXTREMELY HYDROPHOBIC - over 100° contact angle and resistant to water spots - 30° water shedding angle, high gloss and super slick
  • UV PROTECTION – Glidecoat ALPHA provides excellent protection against UV. This means your vessel/vehicle is protected against sun damage, dramatically reducing the rate at which the surface oxidizes.

I have a plethora of automotive detailing products and tools, and a "must-have" for any vehicle of mine is a quality ceramic coating. I have been using Gtechniq products almost exclusively for over a decade, and while I have tried some other products that are marginally better, they often cost more than the price difference was worth. Being fortunate enough to score this through Vine made me eager to try it out, but many of the other "coatings" I've gotten through the program have been, well, mostly junk with the exception of a few others. Right away upon application (well, right away after spending *a lot* of time on paint prep, as you should with any coating), the way it applied and flashed over was exactly what I'm used to seeing on high-quality coatings, but with a slightly longer working time allowing me to do a whole panel at a time before before the final buffing. It applied cleanly with no high spots or "sticky" spots that didn't want to buff out.Overall, I'd say the raw coated paint was not *quite* as glossy as some of the other coatings that I've used, but still far glossier than most car's paint. However, when topped with a good sealant or wax, it looks just as good as anything I've ever tried. This makes it a terrific value, so long as it holds up as promised.

We use this product almost on a daily basis for our customers boats. Very easy to install. Performs excellent and with the right maintenance, like all coatings, it performs and last as advertised for us. Following directions and you will have no issue installing. To the reviews that say it’s difficult to apply, you clearly are just using it wrong. We apply in direct sunlight on glass, metal, paint and gel coat with zero issues.Highly recommend this product

I have tested a few coatings off of Vine, and this is the only one so far that actually works. The only negative to it, is you're going to need a couple bottles. It takes two coats to get full protection, and one bottle will only do a midsize vehicle. You can apply it to everything, your paint, glass, and especially trim if it's faded. It does a great job restoring the trim. It's easy to put on, wipe it on with the applicator up and down side to side, wait about a minute, and buff it off. The prep is the most important. You need to use an IPA, alcohol and water, the wipe the surface down after you've washed and decontaminated the paint, and have done your buffing. When it rains, if I'm driving over 40 miles an hour, I don't even use my windshield wipers, the water just beads and goes off. The vehicle is easier to keep clean, dirt and grime do not stick as well as it did before. As far as shine I didn't really notice much compared to the typical wax I use. I did just buff the vehicle out and put wax on it, and after using this, I didn't see a huge difference in gloss, it was about the same. It also works great on the screen of your cell phone or your tablet, it helps reduce fingerprints and smudges. So far I've been impressed with the performance and I'll keep the review updated if there's any changes.

Let me first say that I have no experience with similar ceramic coatings, though I have waxed more than a few cars. The suggested prep to apply this product is fairly involved, but I did my best to prep my vehicle properly. For me this included a strip wash, meticulous regular wash, clay bar treatment, light compounding using cheapie orbital polisher, ashed again and finally applied Alpha coating according to directions. It's only a couple of days later now, so I can't comment on the claimed 5 years of protection, but the results of all that effort certainly made a big difference, water beads on the horizontal surfaces and slides mostly off of the vertical surfaces. Prep is laborious, but application of the ceramic coating is much quicker and easier than any wax product I've ever used. So, 1 week into the claimed 5 years of protection I'm very satisfied. The product costs more than traditional waxes, but is a bargain is it lasts even 25% of the claimed lifespan.

Saying results are pretty good might mean a 3 star rating to a lot of ppl, but I find that most products on the market are either useless or work decent. At least that's my opinion or maybe I've just not come across that amazing product yet. Anyways.. I've included a picture to showcase what the results were after quite a bit of rain. The picture is of the hood of my vehicle. I cleaned the entire thing thoroughly, buffed and polished it consistent with the instructions, and applied the ALPHA ceramic coat to ONLY the left half of the hood. Unfortunately I didn't quite get to 24hrs before rain exposure which may or may not have made a huge difference. The instructions indicate it can.. I'll let you be the judge of the attached pic. I did use a little bit of filtering to the image but mainly to enhance the ability to see the difference between the two sides. Due to the color of the vehicle, it's quite difficult to capture the results due to the mirror effect happening when trying to take pictures. With that said, the changes I made to the image only change it to the point where the results I witnessed in person are apparent and visible at least to some extent. Though, neither side is perfect after rain exposure, it is very clear that the side which was not treated with the product appears far dirtier and developed quite a bit of water spots. To me the product works well but it's expensive too. I feel like there are options that are more budget friendly and cost far less than this one, however I have to admit once again that this product is at a slight disadvantage due to the fact that the application process was not 100% followed and the treated area was exposed to rain which has been very unpredictable. Somehow every time I've prepped the surface to test the product, it ended up raining the very next day even if rain was not forecast. So with all that in mind.. I say it works well but like many other products, my experience wasn't something that managed to magically keep my car 100% clean and free of water spots.
