Honestly came in really good quality plastic. Make sure you change your lock and secure it. Mine fell out as soon as I put the last screw in and I had to take it all apart and it was fine after I put it back. Works well I wish it came with the screws.

Fit great on my 2010 tundra. Able to swap the lock mechanism easily. Replaced in about 15 minutes. Great product.

Bought this in December 2022 and just had to replace it (June 2024), so it lasted about 18mos. It fit my 2010 tundra just fine, but the quality of the item was noticeably more "flimsy" than the Toyota OEM part. Like I said, it fit fine and worked fine but only lasted about 18mos. The original OEM part last for 12 years. I just replaced this Gledewen part with the Toyota OEM part and already there's a noticeable difference in the quality...there's a much more solid feeling when you open the gate. Of course, the OEM part is more expensive. This is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for". I don't write many reviews, but I would've liked to know this info before I bought this part. It's super-easy to replace, but I still don't want to do it every 18 mos. :) Or get stuck with a tailgate that doesn't open until I can order the new part.

Gave it 3 stars as it didn't break right away. You get what you pay for. It was cheap, as are most of the replacements. It always felt cheap and had flex under use. Had to lift on the right side to get it to open. Had it broken a day later, I would have had 15 scuba tanks to lift over an unopenable tailgate. The OEM (which was also plastic) broke on the handle leverage tab. The center mechanism screw broke free from the housing on the Gledewen.Just replaced with the T1A TruBuilt. Pay the $15 extra and get the metal handle. Feels way more solid. Hopefully the housing is made from better plastic as well.

Physically it fits the hole where the original latch was.The lock mechanism has to be swapped out from the old latch to the new latch. This is pretty simple to do and a smooth process.The old latch broke due to age and decay, as expected.I don't like on these latches where there is a small "connection" from the latch handle where you grab to the mechanism that moves and releases the latches in the tailgate. Over time I can see how this will break due to the nature of how it is engineered. But the original lasted 12 years. So if this new one lasts that long, it will be worth the price tag.

Ordered this for my 2010 Toyota Tundra and it fit perfectly. Only issue with this part is it did not come with replacement screws.
