This was used per carefully followed instructions by a skilled professional craftsman. It took a minor scratch and turned it into a bunch of micro-scratches on our driver side windshield. I do not recommend this product for any important windows. Minor to major problem. Beware!!! Be cautioned!!! This Mr. Bean photo illustrates the end result. :(

I didn’t know you could do this, saw it on YouTube and looked it up on Amazon and found the kit. Have a 65 nova and the rear window was scratched to hell, figured I’d try this before replacing the whole window since I wanted to keep the original glass and to my surprise it works amazingly! I should’ve gotten pictures but I didn’t think about it, glass looks brand new! Have used it on several cars and will always be my first choice before replacing deeply scratched windows. Follow the directions and it’s easy to use!

Funktioniert sehr gut. Works very well. I was able to remove extreme scratches from a used aquarium tank.In my opinion, all negative reviews of the product are pure user error! You have to have some skill and think when using something like this. Polishing and sanding is work - anyone expecting a "miracle product" is living on the wrong planet :D:D:DYou just have to make sure that the cordless screwdriver/drill can hold the speed specified in the instructions. My cordless screwdriver was undersized, which is why the whole process took ages.

I had a classic car side window that was badly scratched and this kit did the trick. You need to have patience and persistence as it took me 6 hours to get the glass perfect but it is perfect! I did both sides and would not hesitate to use this method on any car I own moving forward. You need a good plug in drill, lots of glass cleaner so you can clean, inspect and continue but there were no swirl marks, foggy patches and if your careful enough the glass will not distort. As they say several times check the temperature and do not rush. I rarely leave reviews but those of us out there with cars they no longer produce glass for this will save you!

There is nothing easy about trying to remove scratches from glass. This product will work with lots of hard work and time, but I would not recommend for any glass in direct field of vision. Removing anything more than a light scratch will result in the glass a bit thinner in the spot being polished. If that is somewhere in the direct field of vision and the glass is standard window glass thickness it can result a slight distortion. Results with thicker glass like the kind used in patio/stair railing and where you do not directly look thru would probably work better.

I tried this product on some scratches on the inside drivers door glass of my vehicle. The windows have some tint. I discovered the tint is an applied film to the inside of the glass. The polish did improve the appearance of the scratched area but will not restore it to the original appearance. It went from fine white scratches to a mildly foggy appearance. The film completely buffed off, leaving a .5 x 1 cm area of clear nontinted glass in the center of the work area. That was how I discovered the tint is an applied film over the glass and stopped buffing. If you have tinted windows, consider replacing the glass or looking into a body shop to remove the original film and replace with an aftermarket tinting

Your glass had better be worth saving over replacing, and even then the work is rough and the results will leave you wanting. The green pads (160grit) do cut through deep scratches. However, they leave alot to be undone by the next step. The blue pads (600 grit) cut very slowly by comparison, and struggle to cut beyond the damage caused by the green. In my professional opinion, a rule of thumb for grit progression is to roughly double the grit each step, so 600 from 160 might leave you working on things for a while. Similarly the polish struggles to undo the scratches left by either previous steps. That being said the cerium oxide does polish and works exactly as advertised. I think this kit lacks enough sanding steps and enough sanding pads to be useful on anything beyond very small projects. DIY with a drill is also a pain, as most models give little leverage outside the torsional axis. This allows the wheel to bite and wobble, which degrades the performance of the product. I would recomend adapting wet sanding into the progression, which would also help to mitigate the risk of sillicosis. My work with this product yielded a smoother glass surface on the whole, but a still pretty scratched up area where deeper repair was needed. I would avoid this product, specifically the sanding discs, if visibility is a critical concern.

The discs wear out immediately on the induction kitchen top and no amount of sanding or polishing will help after that. The induction stove is now ruined and I do'nt know what to do.Perhaps this kit is for windows only?Tears in my eyes.

I was hesitant to try this but figured it was much cheaper than trying to replace my patio door glass. OH MY GOODNESS! Let me just say that I am completely impressed. I have a glass door that my dog jumps up to and scratches on the glass to let me know to let her back inside. After 9 years, the area where she scratched could barely ever be seen through. I started with the medium grit as it recommended and after burning through 2 sanding disks realized I wasn't getting through the scratches. So I switched to the course grit and I could actually watch the scratches disappear into the new hazy scratched area where I sanded. I went back over with the medium grit to sand out the course grit Mark's. I now realize I should have done this a bit more but still happy with result. Finally I switched to the fine grit. Since I had gone through all of my medium grit I had to sand more with the fine and actually ran out of those too. I began with the polishing compound and I can see through the window again. See attached pictures. I didn't get a full before picture but this is after I had began sanding and then you can see the after (the board is up there to keep her from scratching it again while we try to sell our house). Look at the difference. I was going to have to replace the high cost dual pane glass window if I sold my house because it was in such rough shape and this kit saved me all that money. I knew it was a stretch because the kit isnt really for such a large area. But it worked so well that I'm not going to replace the glass. There are still some light sanding scratch marks because I ran out of sanding disks but it looks amazing to me. I would recommend to anyone looking to do a large area to either buy 2 kits or get additional sanding disks. I could have gone and bought some hook and loop sand paper and cut it to size to get a perfect result, but at this point I dont care to make it look that good. This sanding is very monotonous and time consuming so be prepared to spend hours on an area as large as mine. But I actually found it therapeutic.. like cutting grass on a riding mower or Bush hogging a big field. I can't say enough good things about this product. I will say that rather than using the sanding disk flat on the window, that I got better results (and less of the disk "running" around on the glass) by hitting it at a small angle maybe 75 degrees off of the surface instead of 90. In working in fast moving up and down pattern as I work left to right across the glass. I could actually watch the deep scratches disappear. I found that doing this at night with the lights on inside allowed me to see the scratches better. Also having a light colored backdrop made it much easier to see.
